Actually he does need a recone for the SMD. But I dont think its any fault of his own. I think is possably and amp issue. Both subs that blew, SMD and DC was on the same side of the amp, coinsidence... MAYBE but I think not. Both subs are beefy and shouldnt blow that easy. We can both agree on that I think.

Not much to say really, it fell apart user error or not (maybe due to no break in time, maybe a bad joint, maybe solar flares, who knows). Similarly Trippi blowing a SMD had the blame being put on the install and or circumstances rather than the sub itself.

If one of my SMDs blow it's AA's fault however...

Which reminds me, I need to find out how much a recone is (don't need one yet, but will eventually I'm sure).

trippis sub blew because or direct DC voltage.. you find me a woofer that can take that and then you can talk. This was caused because of how the install was done.

I also didn't know a SMD blew on this build but because a lvl and SMD blew on the side of the amp i think that amp needs to be looked at..

I also agree with steve. i find it funny how the dc blows and everyone thinks its cool and fine because rusty is fixing but when trippis SMD blew everyone hoped on and said how its not beastly and its not so good even thought Nick is waiting for the parts to fix it as i type this!

All the nut huggers on here need to remain open minded and consider the options...

Well I might as well confirm the rumor. Yes I have now blown a dc lvl 5 and a SMD in the span of 3 days. Both are going back to be reconed and fixed. I have also been on the phone with kicker and have some tests to run before I send the Warhorse in to be warrentied. Best I can tell is the the amp is leaking DC current when I crank it up to 10k. At 5k it is perfectly fine. In the mean time while I am waiting I am thinking about trying the good DC in a tline.
