alphasig293 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Im sure some of you guys have seen my Blue F-150 on youtube with the 3 jl w7's, well that stuff is gone finally, now I can get some real bass. Im pulled between the 2 companys, both are very helpful in answering questions and have given me great pricing. I will be walling my F-150 with 4 18's and im hoping to run 2 sundown 4500's to each pair. My question is which company do you guys suggest, the lvl4xl's or the mayhems? I have had 2 of the lvl4xl 18's before and they were nasty, i've heard that they mayhems have a better cooling system. I will be using this only for car shows, but I would like for it to be equivalant to a daily driver. But given the choice between those two, probably lean towards the Mayhem's on rated power. If you can give them rated power or more go for the Mayhem's. But if you are going to use 2 SAZ-4500D's then the XL's. The Mayhem's are rated at 2500 RMS and can take more while the XL's are rated at 1500 RMS and can take more. I'm sure that eventually someone's going to give an opinion that a MOD will not like and lock the thread. I hope it doesn't come to that. For my $.02 worth, I'd say run the DC's since you already know how they sound and what you'll be getting out of them. However if your really curious about running those Mayhems then by all means give them a try. I've thought about running a pair of them myself however my wallets so thin right now that even my wallet's wallet is taking out loans like a motherf*^ker right now. You say 2 4500's to each pair - that implies 4 4500's??? Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
