Biggest or smallest box?

Recommended Posts

Those subs are barely gonna move bro, i would try to get at least another crecendo, those subs have a very stiff suspension, but yes, should be nice and loud even with that small power

So I have 2 btl 18s and I'm thinking 18 cubes for both tuned to 33hz on 1 crescendo 3k sound good??

Well I plan on getting another one later

In that case, if you wanna use the same box id do a smaller one

I don´t know dorre, they´re still very strong subs for that small power, 3K before impedance rise and voltage drops for each BTL is very "small" power imo, maybe 8 c/f per sub? :drinks:

I try to stick halfway in between the recommended volume... in the case with my model of BL I have always ran larger than specified and more than rms power... depending upon the woofer... I usually run 16-20sqinches of port port cube more SQ oriented subs I run 12-14sqinches of port per cube.

I didnt think of impedance rise, only voltage drops. Ive never personally used or designed boxes for BTLs, only heard them. I may have been wrong

Also, smaller box needs more power, so it´s relative, i can bet you that a box with 5 c/f and 3K is not gonna be as loud as a 8 c/f and 3K even with more impedance rise than the small one hehe :drinks:
