meade916 Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 whats the point of this topic if post are always getting deleted? we only delete off topic BS. hopefully his delete finger will cool off......but ya it was going way off topic so lets stick to the script here please update: ive been sanding, primering, then sanding my primer off for 3 days now. end of update LOL. actually, the piece that sits in the center for the air ride controls was almost perfect.......just about ready for paint so i hit it with another coat of primer after fixing some pin-holes. Its cold here so i put it next to my stand up Halogen lights i got out back. Its a little method i use where i open up the protective "cage" in front of the light and put stuff in there to "turbo-dry" ......well it usually works good but you have to pay attention to it or it could get too hot. Yup you guessed it, i melted it......it was warped pretty good. Woops. Lucky for me the Air Ride controller thing comes with 2 covers for two different options of mounting it. After some surgery, i was able to remove the old melted piece and drop the new one in. Some more mud slopped over it and knocked down and its good as new. A slight delay of game here........so now im back to sanding, primering and sanding my primer off again hahah. Starting to look REAL good now though the flaws are slowly dissapearing. Torres Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 i melted the plastic lid to my wood filler container by accident the same way lol Quote
audiofanaticz Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Yea, those lights can be dangerous, and then some!! I use to have a large halogen for outdoor use on your house/garage and for some reason I brought it into my bedroom when I still lived at home (i think I was using it to grow a plant of some sort) and I thought I turned it off, but I didnt and set it down on my carpet (with the glass on the carpet) and I smelled something burning. Needless to say I ended up with a brown spot that was about 10 inches by 14 inches, it melted my carpet right down to the plastic weave and burned a little bit of the carpet padding. Quote

meade916 Posted January 11, 2008 Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 thanks oh and im VERY human......i fuck stuff up and make mistakes just like everyone else. I kick myself in the ass all the time after a bone-head move. Key is to learn from it Try not to make the same mistake twice.....for example, you wont see me putting that piece in there by the light again Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! jarredondo1999 Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 This is by far the baddest system I have ever seen. This shit is so sick. I see you added an air bottle to the truck, are you going to be building a bottle rack for that? Quote
