nautical7
Well I finally got my ROM installing. Had time to kill and went for it using this write-up. http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/50652-how-root-recovery-rom-without-touching-computer.html That link made it so easy and wish I would've found that awhile ago. I don't really want to sit here for 10+ min everytime I switch roms and how do you post screen shots lol

kl0wn
Has anyone tried playing on xbox live or ps network yet with their WiFi tether I have read on a few actual android forums that it does work, but is pretty laggy, depending on the game. But what do you expect, you are using internet from a phone...haha 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz

Guest Scylloga
There is so much good infor in this thread. But same time so much not so good info, not bad but not good. First if your using a task manager on your android phone STOP NOW! There is a built in manager on every android phone, plus android learns how and when to shut down apps. Also if your using Titanium Backup there is no need for a app freezer, that is built into TB. You are wasting space on your phone. I had a DX up until this week, loved the phone was using rubix 2.1 on it. The biggest downfall of the phone is the locked bootloader. The "custom" roms are not true customs, you cant modify the kernel. Currently I have the optimus V on virgin prepaid. $25 bucks a month unlimited data and text cant beat that. Big Red was raping me at over 100bucks a month for two phones, a dumb phone and my DX. Within 5 hours of having my optimus it was rooted and running cm7. It has a couple quirks because of how virgin does mms and a BT issue. David I seen you mention rootzwiki, they are updating trying to get guides for all android devices right now. Plus have added a ton more then was previously listed. For those of you on att, be careful they are startig to auto enroll people using wifi tethering. If you dont respond by a certain date you will be enrolled in the 4gb plan and have extra charges. Link here http://bit.ly/ihn8Tc. As for apps recomenned: Titanium Backup Root Explorer iSynr(either reg or wifi) for syncing to itunes Handcent SMS Go Launcher EX (was using adw but go launcher works better for me) Car Dashboard (similar to car dock only you can select apps and it has a built in gps and speed notification) Weatherbug Rainy Days (just a simple radar map similar to a doppler image) <rant>As for getting paid apps for free, I support all developers and buy the apps. If there is a free version most of the time I use it and until I decide if I want the full paid version. Most apps cost less than 5 bucks. The android dev community is awesome and without them some of the things you enjoy in your stock rom wouldnt exist otherwise. IMO using paid apps you didnt pay for is the same as downloading music you didnt pay for. </rant>
