99.99% certain it was the wiring under the hood, thats exactly why i don't and ever won't use that car audio bullshit under the hood ever again. PVC coating is not meant to deal with the extreme temperatures and chaffing that happen under the hood, but to each their own in what they do. Sorry for your loss man and glad everyone got out ok.

could be power wiring under the hood that is loose, tapping into ground. The question is was power wire secured? Fuse inline correctly?... much factors here.

I dont know fellas ! Think it was the battery , wiring under the hood or something . Right before this happened we installed 3 new batteries , 1 under the hood and 2 in the back . So im thinking when my buddy did that for me something messed up , just not 100% sure .

Guess you don't trust that buddy to work on your car again, huh? I sure wouldn't. I was mad when my buddy jacked my car up on the oil pan, let alone causing it to burn to the ground..
