What's a good first car?

Getting a fast car for a first car is a bad idea, my friend constantly preached safe driving to me when i was driving him around, then he got a toyota celica (not saying this is a fast car, but a sporty one) and totaled it within 2 months, my first and current car is and '86 s-10 blazer 2 door, it gets made fun of but at least I can travel in the winter!

My first car was a 77 Tbird. Could lay down in the back seat (ftmfw lol), power everything, and weighed like 5400lbs.

If I were you I would aim for a late 90's small sedan and save your money.

If at first you do not succeed, you are doing it wrong! -ARS

im liking the wrx, you have a link??

and the clutch really depends on how the previous owner drove it. hell, my escort wagon has 198xxx on the original clutch and its still going strong.

you just gotta treat it right.

but then again, its a 4 banger wagon, so i dont drive it like a stock car, lol

best of luck bro

how can you say you're a good driver and not experienced? that's like saying dude I play racing games 24/7 so I am a good driver irl

That doesn't make sense at all and the second analogy is completely irrelevant.

You can still be a good driver, just not experienced. Just as women can give good head, but not be experienced. In either case, driving or blowing, the person might be able to pick up on it much faster than others, or just flat out being naturally good.

Current Setup:

VW GTI 1.8T '02

1 15" Fi BTL

Sundown SAZ-1500D

Box-4.3 cubes

Definitely don't get an early Neon like the one posted above. From my experience they like to leak from the window-doorframe seal. Not to mention the interior is garbage and the engines are pains in the ass to work on.

As far as suggestions, I like my Grand Prix. You can get an '88-'96 for cheap in great shape (like $2500 cheap) and they're decent to work on. If you get a GT sedan or GTP coupe they have a 3.4 DOHC engine that's a little zoomier. The later ones ('97-'08) have better motors but they are also prone to transmission issues.

Good hunting!

Too many projects, too little time...

Ok this is the best way i can explain it and still manage to be a nice guy

#1 Fast Cars and 1st cars DO NOT ever belong in the same sentence

#2 If this is your 1st car then how might i ask are you an experienced driver???

#3 I would go with a car like a Non- Turbo Impreza,Impala,Malibu,Cobalt

#4 Everytime you make a statement bro the next one out of your mouth contradicts it

So in short i just want to say if you are going to ask for advice on vehicles then maybe you should try to listen to the suggestions other wise why bother asking :)

I dont know if you watch drag racing or not but this is goign to give you a good idea of what i mean...Do you think that John Force who is a pro NHRA racer jumped straight into a 6000HP Funny Car...No i dont think so he started small and worked his way up :)

Its all bout baby steps man...You get a car you cant handle safely and you will kill someone
