Well i must say there really is no set amount of power to do it because i have a single 8 in a T-line in my 08 Impala that is getting 125 watts and i can set off car alarms on the 1 way streets in the downtown area of where i live.

I do not make it a point to try and do that though just so we are clear.. I am a respectable Audio Terrorist

I've set alarms off with my cars exhaust, with my stereo about 300ft wasn't real hard did it by accident though.

haha i love these threads..... my buddy has an 03 civic hatch with a viper alarm or some crap?? but i used to set his off with my old 6 15" easy from 50' away maybe alittle less?? idk rly??

i had my blazer with solobaric L5s (sealed box) on audiobahn flame amps or something back in the day and i thought i was bad lol well there was a guy sporting FI in the garage chillin eating lunch like we were i assumed? i had no clue what FI even was.. at the time he had 6- 10" SSDs and a large kicker amp (2500.1 or so?) in a red dakota ext cab (i remembered this so well bc of the epic fail)

but anyways my buddys say to give him alittle and see what hes got... well i gave him my all, i was prob 10 spaces away from him and i just felt the concrete start to kinda shake or tremble... and then i heard his shit over mine!!!!! ahhg FACEPALM for sure lol i always get a good laugh out of that one, we went over and talked with them for a long time... he was tuned super low and had a TL in his front seat doing 149xx there abouts? with doors open lol i didnt even know what i got myself into!!!!

I didn't read the whole thread so please don't get pissed if I repeat someone else. The car alarm's sensitivity is the biggest player in that. Also, the distance, frequency, temperature, all kinds of shit. Hell, I set off a car alarm two cars down from me in my church parking lot showing my friend my new install a few months ago. All I got are 2 P1 10's.

Dead serious. In NYC you can knock the lights out with a loud enough system. High pressure sodium street lights don't like the vibration.
