dionysus Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Im thingking about getiing one of these to power a DC lvl 4 18 maybe, I didn't know they made a 1800w amp, I hear good things about the 1500s and the 3ks but haven't heard anything on these 1800s, anybody have any experiance with one of these? Could the 18" XL take more than the 1800.1D? If so could it take 2 of them? I know thats probably a stupid question with a NO answer but I've heard the XLs can take alot of power than rated but didn't know if that was TOO much over rated power, I want to get the most out of the 18 I get but I don't want to fry it ya know lol!! A 18" lvl 5 would handle two of 1800s tho for sure right? But they said ap will blow like a 2 dollar hooker when introduced to low voltage lol. I just spent a little more and got a sundown 1500. Im in a 82 chevy 4 door caprice so its hard to get loud in it but Im going to cut out the places where the 6x9s are in the deck lid to make them into ports so theres actually a place for air/sound to get into the cab of the car from the trunk and Im glassing mids into my C pilars so I don't lose the mids from axing the 6x9s. I do plan on adding a second 18 when I have the funds so If i just get a second AP1800.1 and a second XL 18 I would be ok in doing that yeah? I know its all just a guesstamite but in theory it should knock quite nicely aye? haha!
