  1. First off Thanks Steve for great products I love them. They have allot of quality and pride built into them which is so quickly being lost.I really love the hard plastic battery connector. Instead of the soft backed connectors that will break either the wires or solder joints. Then I went inside to look at the board and looked at the solder joints and wire connections and they are solid shouldn't have any breakage or burn outs. I really hope this don't tick Steve or the crew that helped with the design and build.I actually do this with all of my stuff amps, radios, guitars etc.The wife says I'm anal that way. I have a friend who works at a local shop who wanted to see them when I got them in.After I went through all my stuff and a few friends installs it made a big difference.I took them to him at the shop he tested his stuff and seen that they where off.So he went in and finished three set ups in less time it took to do one. Then the shop foreman if you will was pissed that he used Smd stuff instead of the shop oscope. The shop foreman thinks Steve is a joke who don't know what a real install is.Also doesn't even care about the noobs in the audio world. He is a top of the class install grad who is better than everyone else and his crap don't stink.Absolutely nothing against install grads at all.So needless to say he went through the systems that were set with the DD/CC-1 and was surprised that they were dead on and better than what he sets them at.Who knew that would happen LOL.So his opinion has changed from doesn't want to hear about SMD at the shop. To checking out the vids and ordering the DD/CC-1s for the shop.I liked his comment he said to me before I left "I've been reminded that not all great stuff has to be in a install bay.Or be a brand name that has been used for years.Sometimes new stuff can be better than big names as the case with these tools."

  4. About 4 weeks ago we did a trade my xl 12 for his 2 sundown sa 12"s.when the deal was done I sent my sub right away with tracking number to him.I waited for around 2 weeks listening to him make up stories about he forgot or didn't answer me.finally he sent me a tracking number thought ok cool deal is done.wrong I get package in mail its a ssa xcon (blown).I then get ahold of him he says oh my guy at the shop must have sent your subs to Jacob at sundown ill get ahold of him and have them shipped right away.I spoke with Jacob who heard nothing about this.after a couple of days he tells me his shop just recieved a bunch of bnib sa's.he said he would send them next day air which was costing him an extra 100$ with a t shirt for all the hassle.next day I ask for a tracking number he said hold on trying to drive (never heard from him again).I've texted him emailed and tried calling no answer.

  8. Here is the story with Rusty's van....i set up his system with a DD-1 and CC-1 before Autorama and of course you always start out with the deck. You need to find out where the deck distorts @ full output. His Pioneer is in a podium. MOST Pioneers i have dealt with are not really very dirty. Some dont distort at all. The ones that do start around 58-59/62. No joke, his was distorting at 17. We pulled the podium apart and what do you know, a Phoenix Gold line driver. No adjustments. It is what it is.........dirty. So 17 is the number. Makes one wonder why even use a line driver at all when you could probably benefit more just from setting the gains right in the first place. It also makes me wonder what good is it to have (for example) an 8v line driver if its dirty after 3v? we are here to change that..... stay tuned.

  11. Wow. Read he manual people. It finds your maximum undistorted head unit volume which is the max you ever turn it up to. Then you set your amplifier gains to match the head units output and put out the most clean power the amp can. The manual is pretty clear on all of this. If you don't understand it you're over thinking it and if it's not in the manual it doesn't do it.
