Remember the HDC3s that had aluminum coils handled more power than the copper coils and could dissipate heat better. A metal cup of coffee will become colder faster than a paper or styrofoam cup of coffee.

Annoying ground loop (possibly?)
finkster replied to SnowDrifter's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
yea I just thought about it and the charger ground and head unit ground may be right next to each other, if not the same place. My ipod charger would do the same thing when i used the aux plug. Then again I have alternator noise to begin with, BUT this definitely made it worse. Let us know what you come up with. -
Wait. Did you relocate your battery to the back or is it like that stock? If it's like that stock....run your ground to the negative battery terminal since it's right there. If you're asking how to upgrade the battery ground, then a solid piece of metal near it would probably suffice. Try a strut tower.

Before you get set on mounting them, place them there without actually mounting them to see if it makes the sound that you want. Sometimes they sound good, dsometimes not. depends on the vehicle. Windshields sometimes help the sound. Lots of little things that could be factors.

How many runs of 2/0 cable?
finkster replied to _Vince's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
No. 12 feet of 2/0 = .001 ohms 1.5 inches of fuse (let's assume it has the same volume as 10 gauge wire) = .00008 ohms There is more resistance from the 2/0 wire than in the fuse.
