im just sad I could not get in on that pre christmas 25% off special.... .... so many people that I know do not even know about this tool and when I was telling them about it they were like fuck that it costs too much and I was like its very informitive and you can get it to pay for its self when you have to build 15 different enclosures because every 3 months you tweek something and I want it to show people that using a prefab box from a flea market will not get you where you want to be and those people trade out subs like wet socks

Uh what? Why would cabin gain play any role in amplifier output? in the video tony D made when the amm1 was just rolling out he explained so much things including testing with a window up/down.... doors open.... everything would change the output and power factor..... remember this is a real world test.... everything plays a roll in the outcome a box and amp in your car might make 500watts and in another car make 600watts just from the cabin size and acustics
-
did you do a sweep.... and what was the power factor at on these tests... you want to find the reading that has the highest power factor... if the power factor is at 20% it does not matter if its a dc 5K its not going to tell you anything close to 5K... ect... cabin gain and impediance rise play a huge factor

multiple sets of tweeters can be hard to set up if you are trying to get a good sound stage... I would do 1 set of comps in the front and some midbass/midrange drivers and run a cheaper set of stock size 2 ways in the rear or delete them completely and go full active in the front.... if you are just trying to get mind numbing loud then do the 35 sets of comps that you want

Pioneer AVH-X4800BS HU
MotorCityFats13 replied to MotorCityFats13's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
just installed the unit.... so far I am loving it... still have to dial it in but this HU is really sweet just have to get this EQ all set up... my tweeters are really noticeable now having more than treble and bass adjustment, have to wait till my mic comes so I can try out the auto eq function.... but I might try my computer as an RTA and see how this goes -
I run 1 level 3 12" and built an oversized box 1.75net @33hz..... I over power the sub to about 1200watts..... the AR cone and surround keeps everything good.... and the sub does not react ill in anyway when I play below tuning.... sometimes I let it dig down to 25's..... never even smelled the coil..... I think this upgrade is a must if you want to protect it from unloading on you

Pioneer AVH-X4800BS HU
MotorCityFats13 replied to MotorCityFats13's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
well the price dropped $20 because of some saturday before chrismas online deal... I found a 5% off code "cant really complain about $332" so I went ahead and broke the bank and ordered the 4800.... looks like sonic said it would not fit because they are out of the house brand dash kits so I had to add one for $9.99.."crutchfield said it would fit" also added a few last minute X-mas gifts..... cant wait till this arrives and I can ditch my cheap scoche HU.... says it will be here on the 23rd and its claimed to be 55f in detroit that day.... my job raised my christmas bonus to $100 this year so it should all work out.... now to go full active this spring!..... anyone know where clipping is on this unit using the DD1.... I would guess it does not clip from what I have watched on pioneer units..... already ordered a bypass off ebay! -

I cant stand playing music with android I just want to be able to pair a phone and an ipod at the same time.... this radio is more of a pipe dream since it already costs more than I can swing anytime soon but for the extra $70 it might have more options than the dual pairing....I do plan on going active if I buy it but then i would need another amp for my tweets -
AVH-X4700BS vs AVH-X4800BS.... site says 4700 fits 07 explorer and 4800 says does not fit? both units measure 7" W x 3-7/8" H x 6-1/2" D but site does not add the dash install kit because it says does not fit? I am really interested in the dual phone connectivity options but what other options are added in the $70 price difference? After Christmas I am interested in buying a new HU but I need to sort a few things out with options...

EVL-65 6.5" Subwoofer Demo Video!
MotorCityFats13 replied to skaraudio's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
those things being 6.5's really threw off my perception on size.... looked like a huge port..... and that rear view mirror was it really moving like that or did the glue fail.... this might be a fun product to play around with -

Need new alternator , but?
MotorCityFats13 replied to chetrog's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
I went through this when I installed a smaller pulley on my 1998 4.0ohv explorer.... went to the autoparts store and kept grabbing the next shorter belt until I found the perfect one.... guy behind the counter did not mind at all..... was kind of a buy it return it deal that lasted about 30 minutes! once the belt tensioner sits in the middle quest is over! just remember to document what belt worked so you do not have to do this all over again!
