That's where you would use the 1/0 gauge to 4 gauge reducers to hook up to the amp or trim the wires and heat shrink them to keep from fraying

If budget permits go with any 1/0 awg oxygen free copper wire (better to go bigger that way if you plan on upgrading your setup in the future you already have the wire to support it). Google search some more but if you're going to buy "1/0" make sure it at least meets the AWG specs. Welding wire is less expensive and works well. How much power are you planning on running? Make sure you have enough to wire your amps and for the big 3.

Practice, the dudes been doing this for a little bit. Same thing would happen to me until I started wrapping a small strip of aluminum foil where the wire jacket and terminal meet. It kept the solder in and made things a lot easier. Also it melted the jacket to the terminal making a nice seal.
