  1. Either I don't watch enough TV, or Nicholas Cages movies have gotten so bad that there aren't any previews for them and they go straight to netflix without theater presentation.

  2. What's a good way to start your day? Not pulling into work with a flat, that's for sure.

I just spent $480 on two new tires and an alignment. It could be worse you know.

It could be. I almost told the guy to put me down for four new ones and he quoted me $550 and I cringed because that would mean less audio money. So I'll just stick with $150 for one, the other three are still in good shape, plenty of tread

  3. I doubt that audiopipe is any better than the pyramid. About 25 cents per a watt is a good place to start in my book (not always). Take the rated rms power of that amp, multiply by .25, and if the price is $75 or less below that then it's definitely a waste of money. Just my opinion and way of looking at things. Doesn't necessarily speak for the actual quality. But usually things that work better cost more
  4. Advantages: more current flow for the extra current draw that adding an after market sound system requires from alternator/battery
  5. My first amp ever was a shitty pyramid amp similar to yours, and my recommendation, get your money back and buy a real amp. As for big three, yes, when you add equipment that draws more amperage than what was intended, you should upgrade power and grounds
  6. I think he just means the doors (4) and then the sub (1), leaving the dash miss/tweets on the HU. Get a five channel.
  7. Only sounds crazy if those are all stock speakers not rated for that power. In which case, buy some replacements that are.
  8. You could probably get away with a D4700 under the hood. It's about an inch taller than what he posted from oreillys, but the other specs are good, and an inch more in height wouldn't be an issue, but to be sure you should try find like a 3inch block of wood or something else small that's around 3-4 inches, and set it on your current battery, to make sure you have the clearance for the extra height and the posts/terminals.
  9. What do you do when your only cutting wheel for your dremel breaks and you're too lazy to go back to Home Depot? Use the sanding wheel attachment it's messy but it works
  10. Dremel problems... Not enough battery life. My only cutting disc broke and I already went to Home Depot once today.

I'll have to look into the sonicrafter. Thanks Aculous, I'm making it work with 10-15 minute charge times and the sanding wheel attachment. It's messy, but it's getting the job done.

Shit I didn't even think about throwing it on my drill. That ain't a half bad idea. I'll grab some more cutting wheels tomorrow on my way home from work though. Not sure if I'll finish up cutting the excess fiberglass off tonight. The wife is home and I was on duty yesterday so I gotta spend some time with her before I catch some sleep

  11. I would say it depends on your available space for the enclosure. Take measurements of the dimensions you want for the box and post back. Someone else who has more experience in that area would be of more help than myself, but I'll give it a shot.
  12. Dremel battery died on me as soon as I started cutting the fiberglass down :,(

i have one of the cordless dremels wish i had a corded one. they seem to die way to fast and bog down to easy

Yeah. I love having the cordless because I can take it anywhere and use it, but that battery sucks for the most part. One day I'll have a little work shop with all corded tools, and then I'll have all my cordless twins when I need them too. Haha dreams right?

  13. So today I decided to start to make some door pods to put in the factory location. Only started the passenger side for now. Didn't use enough hardener though. So hopefully tomorrow it'll be nice and hard My canvas All taped up (neither 3M nor Duck brand painters tapes work for shit on door panels btw) And a couple layers of glass and resin later Tried my damnedest to get rid of all the air bubbles, but hopefully it won't effect it too much since that's the side that will be against the panel. Looks better than the last time I tried glassing some tweeter pods. Tomorrow I'll start on the drivers side door and get to work on this one while the drivers side is drying. With a little more hardener that is.
  14. Today's the day, TDH in Petersburg, VA. First show ever for me, gonna be a blast.

  15. July 2014 Virginia Beach, Virginia Not been a member that long, but I've learned a hell of a lot since I joined. Although ignorance is bliss though, because I was happier spending less money on this before I joined but it's worth it.
  16. so in my excitement of having my bass back, I forgot to take pictures... But, it's up and playing and sounds good to my ears as usual. Tomorrow is the TDH show. Probably won't demo or compete, but I can't wait to see what everyone else has and hopefully get some ideas. I need to deaden the doors though. Those panels vibrate like crazy. The explorers panels never did. Probably the only good thing about that POS
  17. Thanks! Update: Just paid for my Singer 270A hairpin alternator, should be seeing that in about a month or so. Right now I'm running speaker wires and amplifier remote turn ons! I'll throw some pictures in when I'm done.
  18. Look what came today D3400, SHCA shirt, and VM-1. Here's the 555 side post adapters Out with the old And in with the new Unfortunately it's been raining all day and right after I put the battery in it started raining harder. So that's all I got done. Battery installed, power wire from front to back battery. Hopefully it won't rain so much tomorrow like it's supposed to and I can at least run my remote wire from the HU to the amps, and knock out the big three. Then I'll be bumping all the way to the TDH show Saturday. Here's the blue interior LED's in daylight
  19. Thanks guys. I'll try to get some better pictures of the LEDs inside, these were kinda rushed since I was running late leaving for work this morning. Everything is slowly coming together
  20. Talking to Mike Singer now about a 270 6 phase hairpin. Might run it dual with the OEM alt, but not sure if I'll need to remove anything to do so. Any advice about that?
  21. Oh, and the D3400 and VM-1 should arrive tomorrow afternoon, so I just might have everything set up in time for the TDH show this weekend, depending on the time I get off work tomorrow and Friday.
  22. So here's the interior lighting. It looks brighter in the pictures than it is in person. From the outside Doors Map lights And dome lighting in the rear seats It's just replaced OEM lighting, so they only light when the doors open or the buttons are pressed.
  23. So here's the hydraulic crimper. Didn't get around to using it before the sunset, so no crimps today. I fixed my grounding/alt whine issue. Turns out I had some insulation crimped into the wire. All fixed now. But I decided that while the dash is apart, I'd run my RCA's. Getting them zip tied and tidy looking Ready to be run Hidden run in the floor trim And out to the amps Better picture of the head unit in the dash. Also got some blue LED's to replace all of the interior lights with (doors, dome, maps, glove box) and white LED's for the license plate. I didn't snap any pictures of the little things before the install, but I'll try to get some of the lighting in the morning on my way to work. Perks of leaving your house at 5:30 having blue interior lighting is something I always wanted to try out so I did it. If I end up not liking it, I still have all of the stock bulbs. Got the email back from Jon with the invoice for my order, hopefully it'll be shipped out tomorrow and maybe be here by Friday Other upgrades I'm in the plans of making sooner than others: smoked headlight/tail lights, HO alt, and getting better at remembering to take pictures.
