  1. but I already bought so much on the 20% off sale..... my checking account hurts
  2. take measurements of the space that you want your enclosure and amps to go in. build it all yourself, and enjoy it more than you will if you buy prefab enclosures. The measurement of your available enclosure space will help forum members figure out what you can fit in the space you have for the goals that you want. if that ported enclosure that kept blowing subs because you played too low, then its because it was tuned too high for the music you listened too. being ported doesn't mean it can't play low, and outperform a sealed enclosure, why would you "need at least a 100 watts going to each mid/high"? from your post, you're only looking at a 2kW sub stage at best, which you definitely don't need 100w per a mid and high for.
  3. Oriole's for me, but congrats to the Cubs for that victory. Was a great series overall.
  4. what capacitor? it's most likely done for. you've released the factory installed smoke, and no one can put that back in
  5. If you have the DD-1+, then you can use it to set your overlap to -7.5dB, which I would recommend to be safer than -10dB, given the amount of difference between your amp and subwoofer RMS, especially if you are unfamiliar with your system limits. But if you do -10dB, listen for any abnormal sounds and smells, because that means you're pushing the limits of your sub and further listening at that level can damage it.
  6. I believe he means the overlap for the gain. You'll get mixed answers on this question. I personally prefer -10dB overlap for my sub amps, and then depending on the song and the frequencies it plays, I'll set my volume at a safe level for what is playing. Not all music is recorded or created equally, so while you can play full volume at -10dB on one, that might be too much for the next song. I do not recommend using the -15dB track at all. Just me.
  7. Sounds pretty good with some headphones. Both videos that is can't wait for the new psyph album. Any news about when it will be released?
  8. hell yeah. Just ordered the 72sqft pack of Overkill Pro, and the 54sqft pack of Luxury Liner Pro. Thanks for the great deal!
  9. The only issue I see is that unless they're completely protected from moisture/dirt that is more extreme in a car environment than a home, then they may end up damaged. I believe the materials used for car audio speakers are More withstanding to natural abuse than home audio speakers.
  10. It helps others to help you if you tell what it is that you need help with. An equipment list doesn't tell much.
  11. SMD plus some beers while inport really gets me missing the tahoe. Need some bass back in my life. Halfway mark... :)

  13. Hmm good to know, now to dig deeper it also appears that you enabled the color change of my name i appreciate that.
  14. that is on PC and Mobile(full version). I am on PC right now and the ads are gone, so what you did worked Thank you.
  15. Paid members are supposed to be ad-free? I had no idea. I get them on regular browser and mobile still. But good to know that it's not supposed to be like that
  16. Torn between 5 XP3000's, or one XS 15k lithium. About the same price, but will the lithium match the 5 AGM's?

I am a fan of these lithiums. Weight savings are awesome.

You can get away with less wire, less terminals and less alternator with lithium as well. That adds up to even more money and weight savings.

Would ~800A of max output total from three alts be too much for one lithium battery...? Assuming I was drawing that much current from the battery to the amps in the first place from five amps..

  17. Just ordered 6 Tweaker pads, double sided tape, spray adhesive, butyl rope, decals, and the fury v2 knife. not enough for the labor day sale, but it's stuff i'm gonna want/need. I'm going to wait until the black friday sales before getting some Overkill Pro and Luxury Liner Pro. Thanks for all of the great sales and products you provide us with Team Second Skin!
  18. Under powering drivers won't damage them, unless it's a dirty signal being fed to them.
  19. Abu Dhabi!!!! They have corona. Bahrain does not. Abu Dhabi wins in my book :)

  20. you want your high pass filters all of the way down, and low pass filters all of the way up. or set to "bandpass" if there's a switch on your amps for that. in the case of your sub amp, if it has an infrasonic filter, or subsonic filter, then that should be all of the way down, and the LPF all of the way up.
  21. could have changed your "time period" filter from content I have not read to since my last visit or something else in those options.
  22. anyone besides CJ from droppinhz have an amp dyno in virginia?

  23. no one here can tell you what you want to daily. if you start small and it's not enough, sell the subs and amp and put the money towards the larger setup (larger meaning more powerful). If you go with the larger setup, and it's too much, turn the volume down till it's where you want it. I use XS with no issues, and i've also used duralast AGM's with no issues. if you get the 3500w amp, then upgrade your front battery to an AGM of whatever brand you choose, and a group 31 size or larger AGM for a secondary to help give you a buffer for voltage.
