Is this bad?

i put a big gap between me and other cars aswell, just incase someone creeps on me or someone cant make the stop in time. gives me room to bail out of there if need be. plus, i hate people squeezing and boxing me in. sitting on my bumper or door pisses me off, i like lots of room. as for the audio assault to the public.... :01nocomment8so: -
good question,...my guess is to match the asthetics of the end plate also shouldnt be any inbetween, seems like there is just a spot where it changes. i never mess with mine, i leave it. i still do it the old school way by checking wires and switching them. im kinda anal about wires matching with same poles and whatnot
-
zero,... if you wired up all your speakers + and - terminals properly from + and - amp outputs, there should be no problem all the phase does is let you change polarity in stead of reversing the wires on the amps or inside the box manualy like we used to before that nifty knob was bestowed upon us
-
it reverses polarity ex. cone moves out & in vs cone moves in & out with reference signal applied

Why do some drivers have a "pole vent" and some dont?
E a r t h replied to newls1's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
if you look at a standard pole piece, the coil rides along the outside diameter of it and the pole vent blows through the inside. to me thats not a great way to cool the coil. backplate gap cooling imo is a better method vs a standard pole vent some manufactures like dd even have holes in the former to bypass airflow through it and the top plate channels. in their application the pole vent actually aids in real cooling abilities. this is a prime example of pole venting aided by other methods together can be beneficial for cooling obviously all manufactures approach it differently, but a standard old style pole vented motor from a classic standpoint is not efficient by itself for cooling. on the other hand as said already, pole venting is less motor material, thus a lower bl and slightly weaker motor -

imo pole venting these days are used mainly to reduce the pressure under the cap so it doesnt blow it off. many better ways of cooling the coil, useing the basket and top plate gaps or channels for air to flow through
