  1. The thing I love most about amp tests is finding out what they can produce in Certain and Uncertainty modes.
  2. Get out a 3.5mm to RCA cable and plug your phone directly into the sub amp. Turn on your HU so that the amp powers up. Do the subs make noise? If so the amp is cool and the problem is somewhere else. If not then your amp is the problem. Also, your story doesn't make sense. Radio stations don't randomly play songs that are way louder than the normal playlist. That's not how radio transmissions work.
  3. This thread might help you out http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/13280-how-to-do-the-big-3-tutorial/page-1
  4. I have the same errors in the same hard to read font color on my phone when accessing the site.
  5. This may seem like a stupid question, but is your amp x-over set to Full Pass? EDIT: What amp brand/model are we talking about here?
  6. Is it possible he blew the pico fuse? I've heard of Pioneer decks picking up ground loop noise after the fuse blows, but I haven't heard of it sending amps into protect. Here's a write up on the repair, just in case it is the problem. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/44297-howto-properly-fix-your-pioneers-rca-ground/?&hl=fuse
  7. Like other have suggested, just start doing the pieces of elimination. Bypass your LOC and feed signal straight to one amp. If it works, do the same with the other amp. If it doesn't work try a new set of rca's. If that won't work try a 3.5mm to rca straight to one amp then the other. First step is localizing the issue to the Headunit, LOC, or amplifier(s)
  8. Cracked open a bottle of Maker's 46 that's been getting dusty. Man I wish I could afford to make this my go to booze.
  9. I like those drivers, but you check out Monster Lights if you have a Cornwell or Mac truck in the area.
  10. True, but with how thick the aluminum backing is I don't think sparks/slag are a big issue.
  11. I feel that if you properly treated your doors, ie: dampener, ccf, and mlv, you'd be surprised at how little those foam cups were actually doing to "improve" your sound. That being said, I've seen builds where people well cut those pods in half and place them over the tops of the speakers to prevent and drips/run off that may come down and damage the speaker.
  12. If you like them for the moisture protection then just work around them
  13. Damn you guys. I was all lined up to get FI to build me something pretty, but then you drop this sale. Guess I'm putting my sub off another month.
  14. Once I finish my doors I'm wanting to go 3-way active up front, and given the sub amp price point vs power capabilities a 2ch and 4ch might really suit my budget.
  15. Its funny people say that, because Bud offers neither. If you wanted quantity you'd be buying like Hurricane or Steel Reserve. A tall boy of malt has like 3x the alcohol content while also costing less than Budweiser of similar volume.
  16. I've never seen that before. It's been my experience that once you're paired then your source unit is the only one sending signals. But I'm no BT expert either.
  17. Sounds like a big deal to me. At that price tag I'd expect it to AT LEAST gave the range of crappy BT headphones, and no extra noise/input.
  18. I like these guys as far as a newer company goes, but that generic graffiti font needs to be tossed. Is it painted on, or could I scrape it off like a vinyl sticker?
  19. If I take measurements for the width of the main mounting tab, could I get help finding one that works for my rx7? I notice there is no rotary love with any of the alt makers.
