  1. damn crafsman ftw. ive use the bottom of my roller / screwdriver end for hard to reach areas
  2. roller isnt needed but it is helpful. as far as temp im not sure how cold you can install it but sik99ranger posted not to long ago he was able to do it with no problems @50degrees http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/159002-pleased-again/
  3. I just found out the Second Skin forum is back online!!! I'm stoked because it always had great info regarding sound dampening in general, but now its a little bare. So if anyone wants to post up sound dampening builds to help get the forum up and going head on ova http://forum.secondskinaudio.com/ OH and id say WTF to second skin jon about not telling me the forum came back online but that would be more proof that I'm a (i think this thread is enough pross lol)
  4. not one that rots like a pumpkin, i promise you that lol - this thing will have FUR on it before the weekend is over LOL. ya thats true. lol take some after pics
  5. http://www.secondskinaudio.com/index.php/products/noise-vibration-coatings/spectrum-detail spectrum can also be painted on
  6. the second skin Damplifier products do help thermally but its not going to be a night and day difference. id do full coverage with damp pro and a layer of heatwave pro as well under the carpet
  7. you can and it often helps the performance of the driver but its not 100% necessary. IMO if you can do it and keep it clean then go for it. Use a piece of sheet metal pre drill several holes around the edge. sound dampen the front and back and if you really want to do it right have a large enough "lip" to be able to utilize foam gasket around the edge for an air tight seal. then bolt it up and done ive seen alot of ghetto rigged shit that works but at the end of the day if anything ever breaks or needs replacing shits gonna be messed up bad.
  8. ya thats what i thought of too when i saw the paper. but the front side pics remind me of the sound dampening that was stock on my car. the rear peice that was 4in square had maybe a 1cm portion actually attached to the metal. Im not sure if its crap adhisive or installation but i doubt that was highly effective like that
  9. oh ok i thought u had one of those jeeps with no carpet. but yes thats the correct process
  10. mmm idk how well LLP will work as the "carpet" what are u thinking jon? just off the top of my head what if he goes thick on the spectrum and sprays a bed liner over it 30+ days later?
  11. ive had mine on for 3 going on 4 years with no issue... uploaded this pic in 1/28/2009
  12. nice looks like you did a good job... especially removing the tail lights. +1 for that. black anodized ftw too
  13. What if anything are you taking apart? when running the electrical upgrades?
  14. depends on how into it you want to go. Really its best if its removed with damp pro put to replace it
  15. mmm that should be fine as well. just remember the 3rd step (water only) especially if your using dish soap at first
  16. sounds good. only other thing i would recommend other then rags is going to be a bottle of acetone. cleaning the metal with a wet rag first then acetone then a second round with the water is one of the best ways to get the metal ready for good adhesion. Its a little tedious but worth it... just uses alot of rags
