I would have to agree in a crash like that. I don't know if lexus implemented the technology but I have seen many frame designs that will fold like that but there is no repairing them. Once the frame is bent it is pretty much building a new car. I know someone who just barely bent the sub frame o his car an it was a complete loss.

Could be a ground loop or your signal cables are too close to power wires which would explain the engine noise. You need to ground it to some bare metal and not to something painted (sand the surface) and I like to use the bolts on the seats because they generally are attached to a nice solid frame
