  1. wow... thats the sexiest basket ive ever seen... damn makes my lvl 5 look small... anybody have an idea on weight?
  2. im debating on the switch myself to the XL... dont get me wrong the lvl 5 can take a beating... but i want t/s parameters to build a good box, which the lvl 5s dont have... as far as spending 2 grand on electrical?... DO IT! lol... theres no substitute for stable power...
  3. maximum dimensions would be helpful... in other words... how much room do we have to work with?
  4. if this equipment are going into a trunk... i would recomnend a pair of 12s... if you can the RE SXX 12s... then upgrade your amp later... you could fit a RE SEX 15" sub in a 4.5 cube box... but youll only get 810 cm^2 of cone... compared to a pair of RE SXX 12"s in 4.5 cubes... youll get 480 x 2 = 960 cm^2 of cone area... just remember... its all about the box design and build quality... dont be afraid to try and design and build your own box... i would get a pair of 12's even if its the RE SEX 12s, build a box to 4.5 cubes before displacement , with anywhere from 45 to 63 sq inches of port(id say go with 54)...
  5. i would go with RE... theres a ton of great brands out there... Sundown, DC audio are both on this forum... SPL vs SQ isnt dependent on the woofer, its on the box design... i would recommened to build the box yourself.. its a great learning experience... couple things we need to know before making anymore suggestions... 1.Hows your electrical? 2.How much room do you have to work with?? a pair of 12s has more cone area then a single 15... something you may want to consider...
  6. ive seen it... its one of those stupid funny movies... ROFLMOA
  7. I leared by countless hours browsing through this forum... use the search bar extremely helpful... learn how to tune an amp with a DDM (digital multi meter) very good to learn... 2x... read my sig...
  8. the cone area of the 12 lvl 2s its great.. but i vote for the clamshell... 20+ cubes plus displacement is easier then trying to fit 40+ cubes plus displacement.... just my opinion... EDIT: you can fit 20+ cubes in that 2008 Pontiac G6???
  9. i believe your question should be... "i dont know how to wire his subs..." if it isnt 1ohm stable then wire it to 4 ohm... here is a pic... edit... what amp is he using? you may just want to try it at 1ohm and see if it will kick into protection... if it does.. then wire it back down to 4 ohm...
  10. hmmm judging from what i see... your boxes should be good... i say double check your math... esp. on the port... when you say "6 cubes" your saying 6 cubes after port, wood, bracing and woofer displacement right? from what i gather in your OP... your box is 43"x16"x25"... that would make it 9.9537 cubes...im asuming that you did your math corretcly to land you at 6 cubes after displacement. another possiblity is cabin gain? since its in a truck you have less cabin volume compared to a sudan or a SUV... im still researching the effects of cabin volume to boxes... i have a truck too and im about to design a pair of 18s in 10 cubes after disp. tuned to 30hz... but im doing some research on the affects of tuning that low in a limited space...
  11. i say 4 8's if you wana be different... but then again its your personal preference... and space restriction... its all about the build quality...
  12. id help you out but im on the same boat... doing research on bandpass math....
  13. id help you out but im on the same boat... doing research on bandpass math....
  14. Welcome to the forum... id recommended do to alot of research... this forum is loaded with info... the search button is your best friend... i use to be a sony fan myself... but now i know better... lol.. look through the for sale section here... if you do decide on the FI woofers your gona want to get more power for it... some ppl here are selling high end amps for cheap...
  15. those phone suck...im a cellular technican for the last 4 years, and those phones are crap... waste of your time and money... some now have dual sim capabilities (meaning you can use 2 sim cards in one phone...) but because of poor quality control, retarted interface and overall poor construction of the phone... i wouldnt recommended it for anyone...
  16. ROFLMOA... well at least your job is never boring...
  17. either bad grounds or 10 ga power wire 20 ft long... but yea... big 3 in anything larger then 4ga.. should do the trick... assuming ur using proper size wire... edit: back to the OP... my oppinion is... a 2nd battery doesnt hurt... jus dont run them dead...
  18. I love toyota... but thats jus my personal opinion... i wouldnt mind driving a new ford, chevy or any auto manufactures latest line up of automobiles... i jus love toyota... my family has always driven toyota cars... and they always last 10+ years... my moms driving a Toyota '92 MR2... and it still runs like a charm...
  19. i ddnt get much out of your original post... but i believe winsd says port should be 15" it should be 15" total in length... Including the baffle or whatever layers that affect the total lenght of the port.. here is an example...the front is the double baffle side... in this case... you would have to cut the "port piece" to 13.5inches.. becuse the front is double baffle... edit: btw this is a side view... hope it helps...
  20. well as far as equipment... hows ur electrical? is big 3 done? are u using 0ga? KnuKoncpetz has great products... Get a couple Batteries. or a 1 real big one in the front.. im using a powermaster d3100 in the front. someone here is selling yellow tops for pretty cheap... ur subs are good... jus make sure u build a proper box for it... get a better amp... Sundown or DAT would be nice... i saw some guys selling Sundown amps here... deadner ... there is 2nd skin, dynamat (but get the Pro, i read bad reviews for the regular stuff.) DC power for the alt... great customer service... Its all about the build quality... and box design... you can have the best equipment in the world... but if you dont build a box properly... you wont get the most out of your subs... oh and another thing... keep this in mind... "Everyone want there system to be... Cheap Reliable Loud you can only chose 2..."
  21. dc lvl 5 vs wall socket.... DC WINS... lol
  22. i charge them while still hooked up in my car...as long as your car is off... i dont see any problems it can cause... on a trickle for approx 6 hours every once in a while...
