  1. This amp isn't even for me. lol I owe a good buddy a favor for him bailing me out a while back. He wanted a system so its only right that hook him up with the best I can. That MTX is looking better every minute though, so cheap.
  2. They put out very close to rated, I had one for several years. It made a great amp for in between my big amps and damn it was bulletproof. However, $260 is a tad high. What kind of condition is it in? Is it mint, are the mounting feet broken yet (they are notorious for that)? If its in good cosmetic and working condition I'd offer him $230-240. They are great amps, I really liked mine.
  3. KnuKonceptz all day everyday, best prices hands down.
  4. Or I saw this one the other day on ebay and I'm watching it. Thinking about putting in an offer. If you haven't noticed I too am in the market for a 1200-1500 watt amp, but I'm hunting for some high quality equipment.MTX TE1501D But anyway, chances are I'll just break down and buy an SAZ1500D from DBr if they have any, and I'm sure for much more than $250. I like my amps underrated and well known for reliability.
  5. You have three SS XXX motors right now? Or two XXX motors and a LVL 6? You would not be able to get similar T/S specs with the new and old SS XXX motors so I would pass on that.
  6. Here's a Audioque 1200D on caco. Way bigger and better quality amp than the Hifonics ever dreamed of being, costs less than your $250 budget and will easily make more than 1200W cleanly. Great amps and a pretty good price too. I'd offer him $230 shipped, call it a day and never look back. AQ1200D
  7. The Audiobahn is over-rated and is only a 600W amp. I would stick with the Hifonics, they're pretty reliable and most models make pretty close to rated power. But if I were you, I would lurk around and try to find an SAZ-1200D used.
  8. Thats how much recones would be, since you have the exact motors as me. And that's if they have the right coils laying around since the new TSNS coils don't really fit the gap. That price is not including shipping and not including basket modification. And I sent this email when T3 was doing really well, and turning out woofers left and right. Who knows if they have the time or the resources anymore to do this for you.
  9. I've done a few, what did you use to shim it? Drop in recones are a piece of cake. If you need help, I can definitely help with recones. And I contacted Ed a long time ago when i was looking for baskets, he said the TI baskets they have for the new TSNS motors won't fit the old ones without modifying the opening. And of course he wanted an arm and a leg to do that. I still suggest watching CACO, most companies don't want to sell just baskets because there's no money in it. However, some are willing to if you buy a recone through them. Honestly, if I were you I'd just contact Dave at PSI. Have him send you some regular 6 spoke baskets with drop in recones. Trust me, six spoke baskets take nothing away from a driver, I mean just look at my Ground Zero Plutonium. Btw, the Plutonium motor was equally as beast, maybe even more so than the TSNS motors. At one point I had a powerbass XA4000D and it laughed at 4k RMS and still had some incredible excursion without having a TI basket. And if you bought baskets and recones together from the same place it would save you a butt load of cash in shipping. Dave is one of the best and I bet he'd be willing to ship to Australia. Wouldn't hurt to ask for a quote.
  10. It wouldn't really be an SMD hybrid unless you use some of AA's softparts, and there's no way an SMD coil will work, the former is as long as your forearm. These TI baskets are just a general style basket that numerous companies use. They cost considerably more that 6 spoke and 12 spoke baskets but they allow for bigger spiders and incredible amounts of excursion which is why they're typically used on most companies biggest woofers. There are numerous bolt pattern configs, some have universal bolt patterns with 4" or 3" coil openings. The only basket that bolts right up your SS motors (same motors as my TSNS motors) is the non-universal 4" opening basket with 6-bolt config. Its very hard to get baskets on these motors, trust me. Took me a long time before I found these guys, they are the only config TI baskets that will 'supposedly' bolt up to, but I'm not positive since my motors and newly purchased baskets are in the states. You can always modify the openings to work but it can be a pain in the ass. I'm not much of a hookup since I'm leaving January 11th, but you have my number if you need help with this.
  11. TC LMS drivers, T3 TSNS's, AA SMDs, Eclipse TI Pros are all using the same basket bro. They're just called TI baskets and they look like these TI Baskets but you can't have these two, because I bought them. You'll need the baskets with the four inch openings as well to fit your XXX motors.
  12. His name was Danny Murphy? Must be a popular name because that's like the biggest chain of Liquor stores in Australia. They're like the Walmart of liquor stores, they're everywhere! And have great prices too, I'm there once a week. Probably no relation, just coincidental. Either way, I have a respect for the name Danny Murphy. Australian guys would know this place.
  13. Unless you are looking for the new style SS-XXX baskets, your best bet is to get some TI baskets, SS-XXX baskets are super rare and I doubt you'll find three in one place (but anything is possible). I would watch CACO like a hawk. I finally scored two 18" TI baskets for mine, so looks like I'll be building up my TSNS woofers (same motors). They're usually around 110-150 each before shipping, not cheap but they are they best. I look at CACO almost every other day, and i think I've only ever seen one or two SS XXX baskets come up for sale in several years, never 18s though always 15s. You know come to think of it, I have never seen an old style SS XXX in an 18, hell I'm not even confident they made any.
  14. You want Frank Sinatra, you got it. Dubstep Sinatra! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe2uxZ5zS-E
  15. I know someone with a AP30001d (actually two) that's about to upgrade in power. Amp is minty, has the box and everything to go with it. Installed by me so gains were set properly. I'm willing to bet he'd let it go for around $300-310 shipped. Want me to ask him? This is the amp
  16. I've installed a ton of AP amps, I will say the AP3000d reliability is 50/50. They'll go poof for no reason at all some times. Every AP1500d and 1800d I've installed put out plenty of clean power and handle abuse well. The AP30001 is a bit iffy, I think I may be done suggesting the 3000ds, they are cheap and make big power but I like a little dependability. I will never run one in my personal vehicle however, I'll pay for quality all day long. But i do like using the 1500ds and 1800ds, they are great amps. EDIT: I wouldn't run a 1500/1800D any less than .7 ohms and I wouldn't run the 30001D less than 1.5ohms. Your just trying to blow them then, period. Don't argue with me either, just don't do it. Go buy sundown or a real brand if you need to go lower than what it was meant for. These amps are cheap and powerful, but they're no superman.
  17. I would bump that XS D3100 and Big three upgrade to the top of the list before your amp takes a shit. Also might wanna get a voltmeter somewhere in that car. Puny electrical with a big amp, it would be nice to know whats going on with your voltage.
  18. Jump into the enclosure section and read up on the T-line tutorial by forevrbumpn. If you have the room, T-lines are your best option when you want big sound in big rooms on low power.
  19. I wanna know what the cops reason for arresting his kid were? He was awfully young to be in the back of a police mobile.
  20. Last I checked, driving cars into saltwater is bad news. Can't say I know exactly why, I'm assuming accelerated corrosion. Cars that go through ocean floods/hurricanes/tsunamis have heaps of electrical problems, that I do know. Truck is beast for sure.
  21. Pics of the gap? Although the slugs aren't perfectly aligned that doesn't look shifted to me.
  22. Only thermal issue I've ever had with any setup I've installed was with some Power Acoustik Plasma Sphere amps (shitty!) but they over heated like crazy when I first installed them. Turns out they couldn't handle the 8v preouts from the Eclipse head unit, re scoped everything with head unit volume really low and worked perfect. Pain in the ass to figure out tho. Tryna find mystery issues sucks!
