  1. 4.7cu ft before displacements? Lol Cant fit a 18 with that amount of space
  2. No need for rear speakers. 2 component sets? for only 2 p10's? Somethings wrong, normally 1 decent set would be enough. What amplifier do you have and what speakers? What's the budget? How did you mount the components? Did you do any deadening?
  3. And different softparts... Just buy the SSD, so you can upgrade later.
  4. Single sa8-does over 151db... STill do the ssd, fully loaded.
  5. 1 sub? 2subs? Have you ever overpowered subs before? Are you actually going to set the gain correctly? Why not a audioque? i thought you loved AQ.. But of of those 2 i would do the SSD.
  6. Looks better in the video then it did on the pictures At first i was sketchy about it, because there are only a few cases where i like black and blue together.(rather have red and black ) My opinion doesn't really matters but it looks good
  7. You also have to consider IA has been in business a few years more than SA (corrcted ) I am but for a while IA only had 1 amp, then 2 amps. Then there was a while with none. Now they have 3? They also sell in different countries, and a lot of competitors use them. Just because you haven't seen a lot of them sold doesn't means they don't get sold (i don't think you are in the audio industry...) If Jacob says so it has a quite big of chance to be true Sundown exists less long, is less known, just because it's not on "the forums" doesn't means it isn't getting sold a lot.
  8. or 4 18 fi bl..
  9. Pure SQ system and Sundown x8 dont mix. X8 is supposed to be a high powered daily subwoofer that sounds decent.. Not a SQ sub at all. You just want decent sounding loud bass. I do agree that he needs to tell his front stage or what his plans are?. The hifonics hfi line is crap, use atleast the brz line. Edit: wennduweinst, dont bother writing it...
  10. Youre not searching at a sq system at all. You just want some bass that sounds decent. You havent said what youre front stage is, nor havent u planned on changing it.. Those subs are decent. Maybe look at sundown audio sa8's or just 1 12
  11. Like port end correction...
  12. You might think so...
  13. With glassing, he means use fiberglass+resin, because resin itself doesn't adds a lot of strenght. Resin is brittle. I would recommend using fiberglass to reinforce the box+port. Dowel rods are a good way to brace a port.
  14. The SMD is bolted... But that is probably out of you're price range , or you don't have enough room for it
  15. Do you have a shop? Or are you doing this in house?
  16. Just putting it out there but the DD2500 and Atomic AP subs are both 2.5" coils and I've put like 2kw on a 2515 and maybe 4kw on a AP12D2 and they both loved it. Let me correct that: 1500w RMS on that coil in that motor?xD And are those 2kw clamped? and 4kw clamped? (and was it daily? can it keep on playing for atleast a song or two?)
  17. No, planet audio have 3 inch coil and 900W RMS.(which is probably correct)
  18. This only means u need to spend more money that u can put into the bigger system later on... And no they won't handle rated power. 1500W RMS on a 2.5 inch coil? xD
  19. 1 d1d n0t kn0w that talk1ng l1ke th1s 1s d3c3nt sp3ll1ng... Then search for another box calculator (it's not that hard)
  20. SQL is a system that'll play from 20hz-4000+hz and sound good on every frequency. The system also needs to be LOUD. SQL generally has subs, dedicated midbass speaker(s), midranges, and tweeters. Steve and Trippis systems would be classified as SQL Edit: didn't make sense before SQL doesn't exists... SQ and SPL are 2 oppposites, cant combine them. not really sure what i kind of numbers I could get with that many subs and cone area...I never had 10s...I started with a crv 15 sealed and now have 2 18s in a 4th order...hell I don't even know how loud 140 is...I know what 148+ sounds like though lol Truth be told, you do not know what it sounds like. 148db can sound like 100 different things depending on the vehicle, the frequency it peaks at, and enclosure used. And with the "SQL". Sound quality is about bringing a lifelike staging to the car with a well balanced sound. Steve's Tahoe can be nothing close to this with the wide area that his mids/highs are mounted, it would be impossible to get them to sound as if they are staging on the dash. So what I think you want is just a very loud frontstage/substage that doesn't sound like crap. Am I right? Who says that that is the definition of SQL? It doesn't exists as a (real) term It's just you're definition. LOL, that was funny
  21. overkill? when it comes to car audio... is there such a thing as overkill????? lol! no , but i personally don't think 16 component sets are needed for 2 15's...
  22. You can put a 6.5 inch round driver in a 5x7 hole? Can't do it without fiberglass..
