Battery Just Took a S***
kirill007 replied to C.Sanchez.A's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Stinger is a good brand if you can't get XS. -
Why should he tune at resonant frequency? I don't think that his goal is SPL,going to competitions. or somtimes a little below. I usually peak 10 or so hertz above what my box is tuned at How do you know where he has to tune if you don't even know what sub he gets? If you would tune to resonant frequency it would sound crappy in 99% of the installs. He didn't ask how to be the loudest and even then, tuning to the RF of your car would not be the loudest tuning. Hatley_1, which subs are you using ? What kind of music are you listening to? What are your goals? I never said i did know?... My point was not to tune at resonant frequency. Read again woops, youi shouldn't even be in that post. Hatley_1, which subs are you using ? What kind of music are you listening to? What are your goals?

Try cutting the port down so it's tuned to 37hz and if you gain something cut it down even more. You peak so high, because the resonant frequency fo your car is probably 43hertz or somewhere close to it.

Do I need a HO alternator??
kirill007 replied to Sid420's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
If you want to have a HO alt, you need to be prepared to atleast put down 550 dollar, install not included. You won't get a good HO alt for 300, except when there is a BIG discount. -
If you are talking about the notches in the magnet, then no. He just said that they use pie shaped magnets instead of those huge circular magnets.

If it really produces 2k being wired at .7 ohm and rising to a other ohm load i guess it actually does rated. Or does it rise to .7 ohm? How did you measure? To the Topicstarter, save up a bit more, you'll enjoy the audioque more or atleast the hifonics brutus.

Sound Matts
kirill007 replied to TheNewbie's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Should be louder if you point the subs and the port correctly.(look it up for hatchbacks) You can also put this between the trunk lid and the part where the trunklid sits on, so it can't vibrate anymore. Or use weather striping.(thick one) -
Exhaust Theory
kirill007 replied to FreekDesignz's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
What does this mean? Torque or acceleration maybe? If he means that, then it's normal the silencer gives you more low end power because air moves too fast thru the exhaust if it doesn't have enough "back pressure". On lower RPM you need the air to slowly fill thechamber if it goes too fast, the air and fuel mixture will slighty get out and you lose HP.(except if you adjust the timings.) -

3 Subs 2 Amps?
kirill007 replied to jrockman's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Don't use different subs, especially not when they have a different ohmage. 2 of them will get more power then the other. You will be louder, sound better with only 1 of those series.(i mean only use 2 subs which are the same.) -

Nice text, what's your source? -
glue and screws? clamps or weights
kirill007 replied to BFF Larry's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
why are you even screwing wood in the first place? Just add weight+clamps and glue, thats a better option, since too many screws make it weaker. -
New Pirelli's for my Lexus ISF
kirill007 replied to meade916's topic in Wheels and Tires - The rubber hits the road here!
I get it, i like pirelli too, although i don't know why. Maybe because i like italian, or because pirelli p zero tires are on ferrari's, who knows. -

Pirelli P zero are good tires, but why not Goodyear Eagle F, or michein pilot super sport? The goodyear is a bit better imho. Better grip from launch and in the corners, stops quicker in a straight line. Although not that good on rain, but i think there isn't that much rain in cali? Nice fender roller, i like it when people do most of the things on their car themselves. -
Your subwoofer amp gets a stronger input so it doesn't have to be turned up as high to meet the same output. Allows for more power with a lowered chance for clipping because you're not stressing the amp as hard. Lol, more power from higher input voltage. If that was true we would all use a line driver and boost it to 10 volt. The amp isnt stressed more when turning up the gain and keeping wattage equal.

ANL FUSES
kirill007 replied to Vi sound's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
you dont need 375 amp fuses. Can your 0/1gauge handle 350 amp? If yes, then buy 350 amp fuses , if it can only handle 300 amps, buy 300 amp fuses, you wont blow 2 300 amp fuses with that amp, even not when playing long. People these days always fuse high, i wonder why. Only reason i can think of, is that you have less resistance and you get 90watts more.. -
Bad A** Physics
kirill007 replied to Winn's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Not true, learn how to read articles please. It has not been proven wrong, there was a mistake. Ironically it was because they didnt' think about the reletivity in the formula. So they came up that the neutrino's came 60nanoseconds too early, and if they use the correct formula they have to add 64nanoseconds, so 4nanoseconds slower then light over a distance of 72x kilometre. Slower then light, thankgod, because if the relativity theory from Einstein would be wrong a lot of things have to be revisited. Einstein was really amzaingly smart. THis is a cool video, physics is fun.
