  1. There are others well whats your opinion? Oh the Mayhems wil be just fine. I was just saying there's other brands like SSA, IA, Sundown, PSi, Techforce, AQ HDC4 etc. I personally would go with PSi. The Platform 3's can take up to 3k. Perhaps more and they are just as good as others But, with PSi you can get subs custom built to however you want! techforce's stickers can be used as subs?
  2. the standard bench test obviously. you put the amp on the bench and look at it. duh OP... ya... we can spot bull shit from 5 miles away on this forum. as for your question... you can really only wire to 1ohm or 4ohm so you better be ok with running 1ohm. ill bet that amp will get pretty hot at 1 ohm. You're right, it was around 4200 but I could of also just done the math wrong, but it is running at 1ohm, I know that for sure its the actual wattage i'm not sure of... what was the load you used? what clamp meter and DMM did you use? Right just looked up amp doesn't do NEAR 5k! Thats peak power. it only does maybe 1700 @ 2ohms and only takes 175a fuse. http://www.sonicelec...SL-EV5000D.html It comes with a 200a ANL fuse... lets go over that math. 200 (amps) x 14.4 (voltage) = 2880 (watts) now that is if the amp was 100% efficient. and of course it isn't. lets say its 70% efficient. most class d amps are around that at 1ohm. 2880 x .7 = 2016 so the amp can not possibly do anywhere close to what you claim.

  4. could be the ports too small. ive seen that before. but ya, list your equipment and box specs.

any mic with the smaller plug will work. you can find a better mic if you look around.
  6. each sheet is 1 square foot? a 1.67 square foot sheet is $11.59 from SS and 13 square feet for $70.
  7. 1st 2 posts have already said what everyone here will tell you.
  8. mine are almost always up. i feel like im just pissing people off with them down. there was a time where i drove around with the heater all the way up just so i could drive with the windows down though lol.
  9. when i think of a relay i think of a coil that becomes magnetized when you put power through it so that it attracts an armature to make a closed circuit. but i agree with ray on the point that they are indeed gay.
  10. Ha I'm quite aware but its too freakin cold outside and i'm feelin too lazy to put on 3 under armors and 2 coats to go do it lol good god. its 60* here in cali but it was in the 70s last week.
  11. damn, thats an old school amp. take care of it and i bet it'll last forever.
  12. try again with a leaf blower. wtf is planking and why is it supposed to be funny?
  13. isnt that the same thing? 1st off, you dont need it unless you like to sit with the car off, playing your system until the battery dies. if you are smart enough to not do that, you dont need one. - But it will be hooked up to my stock starter battery which is a lead acid...It was my understanding that different type batteries don't do good together in parralel? 2nd. if it was working in his car until you pulled it out. then im sure it still works. - He dissconnected his second battery quite a while ago so I didn't really have a way to see if it still worked good or not. last, put power to the coil on the relay then take a dmm and measure resistance across the two poles. if you get a reading, it works. you should also feel the click from the relay when you power the coil. - This will work without the ground pole grounded even? no, of course you need a complete circuit on the pole for it to work. you could just use alligator clips or something from a 12v battery to the pole for a quick rest.

  15. pretty simple. set gain with dd-1 on one amp. remove dd-1. put DMM on AC voltage where the dd-1 was hooked up to and play the same tone at the same volume. write down the dmm reading. now put the DMM to the second amp and turn the gain until you get exactly the same number as the 1st amp. same volume and tone again.
  16. 0* tune one amp with that, then use a DMM to gain match the second amp. then strap them together. thats how i always did it. except without a dd-1
  17. when strapping like this, none of the settings on the slave amp should do anything. i never heard of setting the slave's phase 180* out. did you copy that from the manual for his amp?
  18. that master out isnt a daisy chain. its a way to set the amp if you strap two identical amps together. look at the instructions on strapping amps in your manual.
  19. i just searched myself and saw all my videos on another website. found another place where someone was asking questions about my system too lol. i dont think its a big deal. more views right?
  20. hell yes they can handle 2500w lol. ready the sig. V
  21. pm me your zip code and ill get you a shipped price.
  22. maybe a week at best. once i get to the point where ive turned it up as loud as it goes and the fear of something blowing up has passed.
