you dont need a new alt but you will need a new regulator for it to charge at 18v. run the system off the 16v terminal and the car off the 12v terminal.

sorry, it wasnt a helpful comment, little out of it today. other than what n8 said, could be speaker wires touching or almost touching each other or metal. once they get enough power they ark out and the amp protects. could be as much as one strand of copper doing it.

well... it didnt fix itself, it was in the process of braking.

the gator belts seem to help a lot of people. other than that, its what mechman said. you need to make a bracket to get an idler pulley near the alt. post pics.

i can give u 10 inches but the subs only need 1.05 cubic inches no, they need 1.75 cubes in a ported box. i just looked it up. the internal airspace will be about 6.5 cubes, port and subs will take up somewhere around 1 cube. leaving you with 1.37 per sub. thats with no bracing or 45*s.

this is one nice thing about going for SQ. ill listen to all SQ songs one week with the sub at a musical level. then ill want some bass and itll scare me to turn it up. but then i do turn it up and im wishing it was louder already lol.

my vizio is doing pretty good and it was cheap.

link didnt work but that box is going to be much too small. it comes to 1.5 cubes per sub before displacement of the wood, port and speakers. i dont see this box being any good with those limitations. can you make it taller?

i didnt read all that junk but ill answer the question on the title. some songs are at different amplitudes. download audacity and look at the songs on there. you will see the difference.

i know... thinking the same thing buddy. the only real problem is that a person might hook up a 2 channel amp in stereo, with the subs in a common chamber. it would be like 2 amps that are constantly changing gains and never matched.

again, what ohm load are you wired to?

body filler is made to smooth a surface, not to be caked on. you spread it on as thin as possible and sand it smooth. pods should be built like bricks to stop that resonance. you can get fiberglass reinforced body filler and just smear it around inside the pod. to seal the holes, if they are small, you could just use resin and pour it inside the pod. as for the vinyl, some types are stretchier than others. but its all about how you pull. my 1st time went pretty bad lol. i had to watch someone do it. start in the middle and work your way out. you can come back to some wrinkles. get one curve close then move back and re-stretch the wrinkles. dont worry about pulling too hard. leave a lot of extra material for you to pull on, dont just cut it to length. hope that helps.

a better battery will do the trick. but a battery, alt, and big 3 are pretty much all you can do for voltage drop. i do think you will need an upgraded battery though. i had very bad drop with that much power on stock electrical and this kid's car i was working on yesterday had a 1200w amp on stock electrical with bad drop too.

well, i have a pair of crescendos and they are doing just fine. they are zenon boards, same as the sundown 3000.

you just pull it out. its a lot harder to get back in
