  1. Me and my friend use speaker gasket tape from parts express.
  2. If it sounds good to you than by all means get them. Good sounding speakers is pretty subjective and only you can tell what will sound good to you.
  3. For that budget, I think: Big 3. AudioQue/Sundown/Skar 1200 or 1500 Watt. 2 Skar/Obsidian/Sundown 12's. If you go with the Skars you can get the 2 Subs and a box deal. If you get any voltage drop with that get a bigger battery, and you should be good.
  4. He wants no audible sound but a big portable hair dryer lol Most people tune their 4th orders 40-50 Hz. Some down to 35 but even that's pretty low
  5. To get the same T/S parameters you'd need the same motor as well.
  6. 6 SA8v2s on an 2500 or 3500 sounds pretty B.A. You'll be putting some people with 15s to shame.
  7. Not trying to rush you or anything. In case you were unsure on the demand, if you were to carry a component set, I for sure would purchase some. I would much rather wait for you to get the product up to your usual high quality standards than have you rush the design though! With that said, I know you don't want to release an SA18, but that would be something I'd be interested in as well. My next purchase is going to be a Sundown 4 Channel! But in any case, keep up the good work!
  8. What is the benefit of having a line driver instead of just setting your gains higher?
  9. If you're worried about it, is making the sealed section baffle longer, and the other dimention shorter (thus keeping the volume the same) be an option?
  10. I second skar and the big 3. You might be able to get away with a Skar 1500/Sundown 1200/AudioQue 1200 with just the big 3 and maybe a bigger battery too. But to play it safe I'd either get the 1200/1500 and a bigger battery, or just get an 800 watt amp and a slightly larger enclosure. Big 3 is a must though!
  11. Making little sealed enclosures for them might help control their cone movement.
  12. The most popular answer would be the Sundown SA-8v2, which is currently on pre-order. Although I do encourage you to look into other companies products, such as TC Sounds, DC Audio, and SKAR Audio as they also make great products. You can't really go wrong with any of those.
  13. I'm pretty sure this thread is against the forum rules, so I'll just toss a bunch of options at you for you to look into. Some good options are: Sundown SA-8v2(pre order is ending soon) TC Sounds Epic 8" DD 8 (I've heard good things about but don't know the model number) SkaR VVX8 I've seen some badass DC Audio 8's(again not sure of the model number) Rockford Fosgate P2 8 (not the best option imo but gotta be unbiased for forum rules sake) Ascendant Audio Assassin 8 (about on par with the P2) I'm sure there's more options out there, it's all about what you're preference is. Maybe rephrase your question with a more specific goal you're looking for.
  14. A 4" would be fine for those subs, I'd only say a 4" would be too small if he were running like the Sundown 400W 8's, but those MTX's shouldn't be seeing near that power.
  15. Hmm, my guess, 4th order through the back seat or 6th order through the deck. Both would work, probably neither would be much better than the other, so do which ever you would prefer. If you do the 4th order through the back seat make sure your magnets are in the ported section so you can make sure you can smell coil if your subs are getting hot. Not saying the 8's can't take the power, but since it is a little higher than RMS it would make for a good safety precaution.
  16. Is there gonna be a mobile skin implemented? I actually visit this site more on my android than my computer.
  17. I have Obsidian on my Facebook friends and the guy testing it has one in a 6cuin enclosure in a jeep sup up 6" airport 29hz driver side pulling a 144.4 on almost 1200 watts. He think s the 6inch port sound s more musical than the 8in port he had earlier.
