    well i havent used the xls or the 5s...but i had two 12" alpine type Rs on my jl 1000/1. i went from that to a 15" level 4...it was A LOT louder than the type Rs.

    my alpine 9886 has a pretty nice ipod interface, also can use usb and plays cds bio-lite display is a plus too

    i've got: 3-12" type Rs 2- 12" kicker comps phoenix gold 6.5 seperate set hifonics 1206d ..got rid of most of my stuff lol
