easiest way i found to do round overs is on the edge of the piece you want rounded, mark it off with as a square. most likely it'll be a .75" x .75" square. then find the middle of the square and use that as the center of your circle. so now you'll have a .75" x .75" square with a tiny circle inside of it which is touching each side of the circle. now you can erase the inside line that made the square, inside part of the circle, and 2 ruler lines used to find the center of the square and use your push/pull tool to push the two edge pieces marked out all the way down. then you'll have 3 lines on the piece itself left over. just right click and click the 'hide' option. sounds kinda complicated, but it's really not. i can post a pic by pic process if needed. it's really easy

common port walls has to do with the surface area of the port and how many walls of the box are used as the port. click the help button. there's links to show you

There is, its called a clamp meter and digital multimeter. Once you clamp the amp you will know the power the amp is making. There is now way to really tell other then that due to a speaker being a variable impedance, and with every frequency the speaker plays will result in a different amount of power being giving to the speaker. A Another words if you are 100% sure the amp is making 80watts rms at 60hz, it does not mean it is making 80wrms at 100hz, or 50hz. I wish at least the power at xx hz is consistent lol, or that they made something like a chart or something on amps and or subs that say...at this hz, this amp will make this power, and this sub will handle this power, and have it written in a way that everything just stops at a volume level of less than 1% thd and not be able to go any higher. Of course, i know that then again, all of those will vary dependant on different voltages, but i think there should be stricter regulations for specifications and ratings. also dependent on the enclosure. nothing in car audio is set in stone. which is why nothing like that has been made. just not possible.

EBAY FRAUD!
Torres replied to bre2ts's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
there should be a link on your feedback page that you can click and type a reply. or somewhere on your 'my ebay' page. also, he can revoke the feedback, but there will still be a spot that says 'both members mutually removed feedback' or something like that. it won't show on your percentage, but it will still show if someone browses your feedback. although that's not as bad imo -
yes, it does depend on how you assemble it. i'll probably change the cut sheet to match what you're saying as that would be easier to assemble if someone decides to use that cut sheet.

if you have one extra baffle, or two .75" boards glued together, then you put 1 in the extra baffle box. the way you're doing it (.75 - 1.5) is saying you're going to have 3 baffles which is why you have an extra .75" on the height. so port height should be 15.5" instead of 14.75"

music is also dynamic. you could be at 3 ohms at one frequency, but under 1 ohm at another. you *could* be at 3 ohms on one frequency, and under one ohm at *every* other frequency. not likely at all...but you can never tell unless you check every frequency. if you're not familiar with it, i don't recommend it. chances are...something WILL break. i'd just buy higher powered woofers and play it safe

^^true that. soon as that thing powers on, absolutely nothing else has my focus. which is usually hard for me to do lol

Hmmm What IF you...

you'd be surprised. NO telling at all how much power you're putting through something when using 'the ear' method. -
SMD CC-1 Prototypes Arrived! Serial number 1-4
Torres replied to meade916's topic in SMD Crossover Callibrator (CC-1) Topics
very cool to see how easy the tool is to use! no more guessing random positions one question tho...since no two amps (of the same model) are the exact same, after setting the gains with the DD1 on each amp, while gain matching would it be possible that in some scenarios that the gain would have to be turned back up to match the master amp? thus causing them to go back into slight distortion since each one was turned up right up pretty much right to the edge of distortion? i obviously can't see you turning the knobs, so it could very well be SO slight that it still keeps them all distortion free, but it just piqued my curiosity. EDIT: i guess if this is possible, one easy solution would be to take a DMM and check the voltage on each amp and go with the lowest voltage amp to prevent them from being tuned any higher into distortion, yes? OR...i could just be completely way off lol -

how to design 4th 6th and 8th order boxes
Torres replied to 2fibtl15s6000watts's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
if you don't know how to design a 4th order, don't even attempt a 6th order. if you don't know how to do a 6th order, don't attempt an 8th order. the concept is simple enough, the designing in them is what is hard. build build build and test test test is the only way you'll really learn anything. someone did a write up on 4th orders, so you should start at that thread and read up on those some. -
better than waking up not knowing where you're at. and alone wherever you're at lol. that happened to me the other night. i woke up like wtf?? and everyone was gone. i had to walk a while to find my truck lol
