i've done mine myself in my explorer. it was kind of a pain, and there was a soft spot where it kept bending, but never really hurt the headliner. i've taken it out probably 3-4 times. gotta take the dome lights out, the a pillars, any other side molding that is attached at the roof. may be a couple clips you need to pop out as well

leather is nice and all...but i dont like it in the extreme heat/cold. especially the extreme heat. i'd go suede if it was me

3/4 wood is what is mostly used. double layered baffles usually. get tite bond wood glue. and dont be selfish with it when you use it. and dont use a ton of screws...that will sacrifice the strength integrity of the wood. just a few along the sides to keep the wood tight till the glue dries. and brace it with threaded rod or some wood dowels in places that are more susceptible to flexing. a wood port is just a port that is made out of wood. only other type of port that's not made out of wood is an aero port with a quick look at those dimensions, i think you'll only need one sheet of wood EDIT: 2" screws are fine...but unless you predrill deep enough, i find that it splits my wood at times. maybe my bits just arent long enough...but since the screws just hold the wood together i use 1.75" or 1.5" screws and they do me just fine

caps man caps...lose the caps. it's like you're yelling. and if you have all positives of each pair and all negatives of each pair connected per amp...then you're wired at .5 ohms. that's too low of an ohm load for those amps imo. i'd suggest getting a more appropriate amp and wiring those amps to 2 ohms until then

the 200 amp alt took a poo on me, so i had to switch it out for a weaker one. i have one powermaster battery atm (working on another, maybe 2 more at least). i havent monitored it while the beats are going...but i'd imagine there's a drop. there's still some things i want to do to boost my electrical (get the alt repaired, maybe bigger, and get an mla module plus the batts)

i have an explorer sport with the big 3. no pics but i can take them when i get pics of my finished build. and i have 1 run of 1/0 hidden, and the other 2 i do i think i'm going to run them under the car. keep an eye on my build log, i'll try to get em in a few days or so
