You would be WAY better off buying 1 quality amplifier and 2 quality woofers. And trust me...Sundown is infinitely more "reliable" than Hifonics or Power Acoustic. We could help you out a little more if we knew what your budget was. 2 SA-12s or 15s on a quality 1200 watt amp would sound much better than what you are planning. And there are more quality brands than just Sundown. Read around here a little. There is much to learn here.

Welding cable is usually the cheapest route. I use it, works fine. The jacket is basically bullet-proof. And it's always OFC. coppercableman sells Trystar welding cable on ebay. You can get any color, and any text written on the wire...for free.

PM corona_jeff with any questions regarding options and pricing. You specify what color you want the DC logo to be before you purchase them. I had 8ga going to my M1 Level 4s...but there is really no reason. May see a slight difference on the meter. I'm gonna use 10ga on my M2 Level 3. It'll work fine.

Have someone on here design a box/build one for you. Or have someone design it, and try to build it yourself. Everyone starts somewhere. Paying a shop is good and all...but make sure they aren't full of shit. You can't believe everything they say. At the end of the day, they are trying to sell you something. Just because they say something is a "great deal", doesn't mean it is. Get a beefy electrical. And you don't need JLs & Hertz to sound good. Both companies make great products...but the partners on this site make/sell great products as well. Cheaper too.

Can't justify spending $100 on wire? Wire is just as important as anything else in a system. Do the big 3 in 1/0 welding...and maybe use 2 awg welding for power/ground (you could get 1/0 and trim it til it fits). I say welding cable because it is typically cheaper and is 100% ofc. Good wire is well worth the money. Look up coppercableman on ebay. I use his wire and powerwerx.com

I have the $200 one...WELL worth the money. Charges my D6500+ 2 XP 3000s fine. I think it charges all types of batteries.

I'd get the biggest XS you can fit under the hood. And 2 XP 3000s or D3100s in the back....no point in going all the way to half-ass. If you cut corners, you will regret it later.

i hear u. kicker to mainsteam. Lol? Are you waiting for someone to tell you what you WANT to hear? Get an amp that does 2500 @ 2 ohms or you are risking fucking up your amp. The Kicker 2500 would work fine.

XP batteries absolutely can NOT be used under the hood. According to Nathan, the XP series batteries will perform better than D series batteries in a battery bank for a daily system. He has been over this many times. Search through a couple threads in the XS section.

The group buy batteries are the XP models only. They are NOT meant to be used under the hood. Replace your stock battery with the biggest D/S series that fits. Nathan recommends an XP series battery in the back for daily use.

How do you know the amp was "cut down" to 400 watts? How did you set the gains? And you could be louder if you built a box to the specs of the new woofer you choose.
