If you actually NEED 8 guage speaker wire (you don't with those speakers...) then you wouldn't be using that terminal cup at all. just get some good 12-14 gauge wire and go to your local hardware store or wal-mart and get some crimp terminals.

Yes, I understand that I need to cut the wire the length that I need, but would I need 4 runs of 8 gauge? Going to all 4 connections on the subs (2 each) and then wire both positives together somehow and both negatives somehow onto the terminal cup? What is the metal piece called that I need to connect to the terminal cup that I also connect from the subs to? Off to class now, will check back later. Just now starting to learn about wiring so I don't know much. Just trying to make sure I've got everything correct and that I'll get everything I need before I do it. as long as they're all connected, it's your choice how you eventually carry the signal from the cup to the speakers. assuming you got D4's and you're wiring all in paralell for a 1 ohm final load. If you can't understand that, research wiring on the12volt.com

i strapped my 2200's at 1 ohm (1/2 ohm each). and rising to 1.98 (0.99 each) and electrical dropping to 12.2. they clamped 4980. so one at 0.5 would be about right for you IF you can keep the electrical up. expect a good battery under hood (group 34 agm), and AT LEAST a group 31 as close to the amp as possible.. a higher output alternator wouldn't hurt either.

low 13's is still healthy. i personally don't worry till i see low 12's.

They have a bass blocker on them, but an xover is suggested. 3-4k xover point should do fine.. passive or active is your choice.
