  1. Nice to see you working on your new years resolution again.
  2. Think it'll fit in my miata?
  3. When looking for power and ground wire, you must look at the amp you are using. The rule i go by is " buy and install the largest possible". If the amp can only fir 8 gauge, use 8 gauge, if 4 gauge then 4 gauge, but never any less. For speaker wire i personally keep it larger than 14 gauge (meaning a smaller number 12, 10, 8, etc.) for any speaker, excluding subwoofers. When picking wire for subwoofers i never go smaller (higher number gauge) than 10 gauge. A good place to look is Knukonceptz, i love the place. They sell the highest quality product i have used, with few exceptions. When it comes to wire, there are a few options of quality/make up. Some wire is CCA (copper clad aluminum) where the base wire is aluminum, and it is covered in copper. There is pure copper, which is exactly what it sounds like. And finally there are other various make ups, but CCA and Pure Copper are the most common. CCA is cheaper, pure copper is more expensive, and heavier. When choosing wire, find a budget, and consider power ratings, and never cut corners. We don't want to hear of anything catching fire of God forbid, anyone getting hurt.
  4. There are several thread about this. Use the search button next time.
  5. You honestly think he has to drive this thing anywhere? Take your hate, and make a better car, ya know, if you can.
  6. Why would you ruin that ex beautiful car like that...
  7. For 150, i would be more than willing to grab it up. Even if it doesn't work it could be fixed and would be sweet.
  8. The real question is, how serious are you? And how much money do you have to plow into it?
  9. Best first two posts ever? Yeah, i think so. Sick looking truck dude, just one thing... get matching subs. I know how hard orions can be to find, but its funny seeing them mis match.
  10. Snow? Really? Big rims? Really? I'm out of this thread.
  11. I don't understand the question... Its called a redesign, these have been in the works for a really long time.
  12. Glue it down, can't hit it and make noise if it is attached to it.
  13. My vote, strong option. If nothing else, what is the downside of meeting with one and telling your story. Get a lawyers opinion.
  14. Me personally would run both amps, simply because a bass knob is my friend... and i'm kinda dumb. If you have em, do it. Every setup is different, someone you heard of is going to have a totally different setup than anyone else. Take info like that with a grain of salt.
  15. If you plan on going to something specifically automotive, then expect to pay. And if nothing else, make sure to find a program that will help you get your inspection licenses. I go to ATC right now and my PA inspection licenses are the only things helping me find a job.
  16. First off don't get the vifa tweet. Long story short... don't. (if you want the story ask) Secondly, i have a 5" dayton reference, just like the one you posted but bigger, and i love it. The thing sounds wonderful at moderate listening levels... however, when you turn it up the driver will lose its warmth and clarity. It basically falls on its face. If you have it bandpassed correctly (125-1000 or so) then it sounds great for SQ competition. It just won't get loud. One thing i have learned while moving towards the SQ scene is look for the frequency response charts. Find a few drivers that work well together. Find a tweet that shines where the midrange starts to die off, and a midrange that picks up where the midwoofer lets go. If that makes any sense. SQ is NOT about buying mosconi and moral, it is about setup and processing.
  17. Just don't do it. LEDs don't run on AC current.
  18. Pretty much. Unless its something odd. Take one measurement with the meter on the battery posts, and another measurement with the meter on the battery terminals. If they are the same then its a good chance its the alt. Has the car ever died while driving it?
  19. yep 100% oil should never touch spark plugs, let alone the wires.
  20. I assume the plugs are in the center of the cover, in which case this is a very common problem. Pull a plug and if there is any oil on any of them, do the gasket job.
  21. Further proof that the educational systems are 110% flawed. We are taught to take tests, and nothing else. Its fucking ridiculous.
  22. Does it even matter? You already have it, your not gonna take it back...
  23. No. That isn't what this section is for. Your a dumbass.
