I would try to shrink the seal portion then test it. I have the same sub it sounded about the same on 50 watts and 250watts I just put it in my room it wasn't enough either.

dont charge over 15.9, i would set the regulator at about 15.4 that why you wont shorten your batteries life to bad.

That Ram is a 4x4 2500. I can promise you it has 4lo as well, the owner just didn't use it. i know that, but the military spec hummer has a lower crawl ratio than a 2.7-9:1 It has a 4:1.

thats why the hummers have a lower gear ratio, diesel and a crawl ratio in 4L plus a 3 wheel drive ram vs a 4 wheel drive hummer in theory lol.

all i can say, is that the box will be hella peaky and have hardly and low output. I would try to talk him into building it into the trunk or else he wont get the response that he expects, or make it a two piece box that bolts together in the trunk.

lmao thats the exact same measurements the 2 15 box i have in my truck is, its way to small, and tuned at 33hz but way to peaky, if it was me, i would either downsize or try to fine more room. What vehicle is it going in?
