  1. You guys would tune a box to 35 hz to play country music? i didn´t know that kind of music had such a low frequency
  2. I´m not the biggest expert about electricals, is that fuse really necessary? i used an ANL 250A fuse for the line in my suzuki swift wich had a 140A alternator, i ditched that thing and didn´t have any problems at all, that´s why my explorer doesn´t have that fuse either, should i install it? my positive runs from main batt to the batteries on the back does have fuses
  3. BRZ and BXI are basically the same thing, i´ve clamped the brz1200 and brz2400 and they can do rated power if your voltage holds around 14v , very nice amps for the price, i´ve owned a few bxi amps and they can take tons of abuse!
  4. 42 hz? seems way too low if you ask me, anyways, try to get some more power and definitely wiring the amplifier low as hell, i would do something like 4.5 cubic feet and 3 6" aeros facing side with the port facing up, that would be a good starting point...
  5. that van is not doing 160 dbs, at least not on any vid i´ve seen out there, maybe on usaci style? trust me, if you want a real 160 dbs system, get a demo from pipo, ho problems, nemesis scott, jared gibson, mikey pilato , etc etc
  6. Trust me, you are on the right path if you were sure about the 6" aeroport without asking somebody, so,your reading has been positive lol, about the subs, they are VERY nice, i don´t know how they are on the lows tho, what kind of music or frequencies you like the most? i always build something that gets loud from 38 to over 50 hz, lower than 38 hz i don´t care, i´m latin
  7. thank you for the input, speaking of 6 inch aeros thats exactly what ill be using, and ive already designed my box to use a 6" aero, its perfect! My pleasure mate, trust me, you are gonna like those subs! full lenght aeroport and 3 cubic feet after displacement would get you around 35 hz tuning, that box should play very nice! the SAZ its gonna be wired at 1 ohm?
  8. Same thing happened to me when i retired from the game because of all the bullshit with associations around here, i didn´t want to know nothing about audio, until i got a demo from pipo sanchez, now , i´m planning on building the only 160 dbs car from central america
  9. i haven´t tried the TNT 10" sub, but i did tried the TNT 15" sub and i was very surprised how loud those subs are, i build a 2 15´s box inside a scion XB powered by an american bass vfl 150.1 wired @ 1 ohm and i we were doing 149 flat without testing a lot, that box was 3 c/f per sub and 90SQ of port, if i would have to take a guess about the 10" sub, i would say that 3 cubic feet and a single 6" aeroport would work great, around 46 SQ of slot port if you take that route
  10. i´m actually gonna run them under the car, so i shouldn´t have any problems
  11. you could get a second handed AQ2200 amplifier for that price if im not mistaken, don´t think you could get a real 3500 watts amplifier for that price, there´s the AP3000 option tho
  12. i´ve never used welding cables before since they were so god damn expensive at venezuela, now i live at panama, and i met a guy a couple of weeks ago that can find me 2/0 welding cable for 1.85$ a foot, is that a good price? way better than the ceap car audio 0 gauge wires that i can find for that price? very nice topic
  13. not much, maybe about 20" at the most in my explorer, and about 10" in my buddy´s kia rio, those are the 2 cars i´ve tested about this thing in the last couple of months, before that, i did test a few other cars and always gained
  14. after i saw the amount of resistance i eliminate when i do a negative run from battery to amplifier, there´s no way i´ll ever ground an amplifier to a bolt or the frame, just saying that´s a very nice choice you can make
  15. very nice video! i had the pleasure to get a demo from their explorer, looking forward to meet with them again at FSF this year and get a demo from this beast, i didn´t know they changed the clamshell it had before, gonna wait for haim to jump in and say if it´s louder now than before hehe
  16. I´ve built TONS of systems on my cars and for other people, for me, the most painful frequencies are definitely around 48 or 50 hz, but to the ears i don´t like it THAT much, i love how the 41-45 hz frequencies are to my ears and you can still get them loud enough to hurt your chest hehe
  17. i´ve even used 6" aeroport for a single 8" sub, but of course, strictly for burps, i do think you could get away with a 4" aeroport and get a lot more output, biggest problem would be the tuning, you would need something like 24" long for a 40 hz tuning...
  18. very nice amps for sure, i strapped my pair of vfl 120.1s in the swift and worked awesome for like a year until i took everything out, and yes, the manual has all the instructions on how to strapp them!
  19. congrats, that´s definitely a badass amp, we used one of those to hit the 150 dbs goal using 4 10" sony xplod subs, i´ve clamped a little bit more than 3K from it in the past , we even used that thing @ 0.33 ohms a few days for music and could handle it like champ
