  1. On a fast rock music build, I'd do the Rockfords. Other than that, DC. Of the choices given.
  2. Single 12" DD needs to see 2.2-2.75 cubes to be happy, plus port if you like low and efficient.
  3. You need to check into your smog laws, you may just want to convert to an OBDII for that. If not, OBD1 is a better way to go.
  4. Any respectable shop can meter it for cheap or possibly free... this is really stereotypical but we dont really have many "shops" in iowa. they are all really ghetto shops that sell legacy and pyramid crap and tell people its the shit. That sucks. You need to start calling around. Or drive a few hours to a decent shop.
  5. Are you going to be putting one up for sale soon? Yeah. My personal 5.1k. It's going to waste as a highs only amp, 1150watts just sitting at idle. My DD ZSE takes care of the lows.
  6. Audition 5.1k here too. Mine puts out serious combined with crazy sound q. Might know someone selling one soon
  7. On topic IMO we should have to pay sales tax on every online purchase, regardless of the state, period. It should be no different than going to a store. It's bad enough that a brick and mortar store has to spend money to stock items that an online store can just drop ship, in addition to the cost if real overhead. But to have to eat another nearly 10% to keep up with pricing is just not fair. Everyone likes to save money, but online shopping is creating a snowball effect on our economy. Eventually, you won't know what products are crap or great, other than some nuthugger giving there "review" online to attest to it's quality because there are so few retail stores left. That leaves China the big winner by making tons of crap that we all consume with our only concern was we saved a buck.
  8. I would be careful. There are 508's that come in the pre-fab box, 1008's, and 1508's. They are all different level speakers. The 508 in a prefab is a great bang for the buck combo, surprised a lot of people in the back of a hatchback, but the 1508 is louder and more tight sounding. The pre-fab port is too small for the 1508, and has a ton of port noise and back pressure. If you do any 1500 level speaker, do a custom box.
  9. The question is more about your vehicle. If you have room, bigger is basically better. It gives you the ability to have a more complete bandwidth and move more air.
  10. Copper clad aluminum gets hot, vs pure copper.......physically hotter, by probably double.
  11. Every felt a ground wire that is too small? It's HOT, and can and will melt.
  12. Filter Module. Basically a capacitor to take out the higher unwanted frequencies when you don't have an amp that is capable of bandpassing
  13. Why do you need to xover at 13k? Most tweeters want 2k to 5.5k?
  14. What James said.... Ive run 200+. The problem with going over 150 is the tweeter. Fine for a few, kinda like overpowering a woofer, but 10x more sensitive to clipping death, thermal, or overboosting the treble.
  15. Well, in reality it matters what speaker it is, and what car. But, if I was to give a blanket answer for the majority of woofers, i'd say 35-38hz. Some rock gets into the low to mid 30's. If you use say an Asendant/DC/FI....etc woofer, it will play decently about 3hz below tuning. High motor force like a DD, you could do 38-42 hz and have about the same range. Also, the amount of airspace and port ratio will come into play....
  16. ReDDrum, Lol. You fail to mention that you have to be a dwarf to drive it........10" forward at the top ofthe back seat doesn't work in the real world. OP, depends on how much you can move the seat forward. Measure out your available airspace and decide. In those trucks I've done starting at 3-8's ported, seat all the way back to 4-8" or 2-10"'ported seat up a notch or two. It will depend on the depth of your woofer too.
