The Double Deez are out, no porno. :\ Now I'm gonna try a pair of JBL w15GTi's. If you missed the original build feel free and check it out here. July 2011 SOTM wiener This is a straight drop in replacement, so things might not work out as planned. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm not looking to get louder, just looking for a cleaner sound Lets get started with some disassembly pics. Dang these fhawkers are heavy! A little side by side action. Those JBLs are wild looking fo sho! Side by side looking down at the cones. The DD have the edge on this one with the carbon fiber dust caps. With the tall-n-narrow surrounds the DD also look bigger. I ran out of daylight before I could get them wired up but here is a teaser shot of the finished product. Muahahahahahah! On a side note here is a pic of a little something I picked up to maintain the batteries. I'm probably gonna have to get a second charger, because one to charge and maintain 8 batteries is going to take forever. Going with a second charger will also require me to modify the battery bank wiring. I need to figure a way to split the bank to a pair banks, one for each charger. Any recommendations? Discuss.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing. Bummer bout the rain, but can't complain too much since it's been so dry around these parts.

Nice computer. I'm glad to hear the SSD worked out great. I'm thinking about putting one in my laptop. Right now I make a cup of joe when I start up my laptop and wait for windows to boot. I'm not a big gamer. Not that I don't like them. It's just every time I get into one, I lose track of everything and don't come back to reality till the wife starts threatening divorce. Any ways, enjoy the new computer.

gates belts?
onebadmonte replied to Kush Killer's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Jegs sells Gates belts online. O'Rielly Auto Parts also sells Gates belts if you have one local to you. As for belt length I would look at where the tensioner indicator lands with the factory setup. You are going to want to get the tensioner to land is the same spot with the new setup. Any tighter and you are going to prematurely wear accessory bearings. As for belt slipping a new tensioner will help a bit. My experience has been that the belt squeals when engine rpm drops and the weight of the alternator stator over runs the belt speed. The only remedies I know of are pretty costly. One is to go from a 6 rib belt and pulley setup to a 10 rib belt and pulley setup. Another alternative is to go with a alternator pulley with a one way bearing setup. The will allow the stator to continue to spin at speed when the engine rpm has dropped. The only issue with that is that the alternator pulley diameter is increased affecting alternator output. Sad to say but the Gates belt isn't really going to remedy your situation, nature of the beast. Best of luck bro. -

Congrats on the new website. Hope to see more soon. -
I've got a solo x 18 motor if you're interested. It's a triple stack of 3/4" slugs, 10-3/4" in diameter. It takes a 3.5" coil and weighs in at 83lbs. Pics can be see here. I can do $275 shipped for the motor alone. If you want the basket and motor as pictured I can do that for $325 shipped. One thing I would like to note is the biggest spider you can fit on a standard 12 spoke basket is 8". The best x-max you can do with a 4" coil on a 8" spider is about 18mm. If you're looking to build a high x-max beast your best bet is the Ascendant Audio 6 spoke basket (SMD basket) or the old SoundStream XXX basket. Both of which will take a 10"+ spider. Good luck with your venture. PM if interested.
