  1. The one thing I don't get is how it works... I understand how it works with other the older alts, but not with these. The one thing you might want to check on with them is starting voltage. My truck will start as high as 15.85 and then settle in the 14's then 13's then... But the point is if that MLA adds a volt or even a half I would think my start would go from 15.85 to 16.85 or 16.35... unless it only works after it gets out of the start mode... Kind of confusing, I just never went with it because I didn't want to blow anything up. My XXX's can take that voltage no problem, but my 4 channel I'm not sure about.
  2. Big 3 means you need a ground from alt-ground and batt-ground. Yes the alt can ground through the motor, but it's suggested by every manufacturer I've used that you add a ground wire. If that alt does 300a 1 run to the rear isn't enough (assuming you have 300a worth of draw). You need to at least run 1 run of 1/0 alt-batt and then 2 runs of 1/0 back. If you want to improve your voltage you need to also ground in the front and put one of the grounds through the inductive pickup so the PCM will react to the load you put on it (charging voltage). That's the only thing you can really do to improve voltage aside from a MLA. You must not have looked before MLA does make a module... Unless they stopped making it. I don't know the ins and outs, but I think those of us that have 07+ GM should have been told to run a 4 wire alt (ad/cs) and deal with the charge warning. This PCM crap is BS One side note, you need to get a battery charger.
  3. Time for a spring time rebuild son!

  4. Amstaff, got him from a rescue about 4 years ago and he is finally starting to chill out. He can be odd at times, he chewed the head off of a baby bunny last week Stupid terriers... He is a great dog none the less, but not the kind of dog you can run around with off leash.
  5. It's not a good idea to be going around without insurance. $900 is nothing, had you really screwed up your shoulder it could wind up costing you everything you own. If you don't have insurance you shouldn't be going to the hospital unless it's life threatening, hit the clinic. Also call the hospital and talk with them about the bill. They have room to negotiate. Just keep in mind these people make a hell of a lot more than $20 an hour (not to mention supplies, overhead, and their insurance). My knee was over $100k after 2 years and I had 4 more surgeries after that. Tore off my MCL, tore my cartilage to shreds, broke off a hunk of bone, pins, screws, wire, therapy, a couple scopes a year later (the first two had my knee wide open to rebuild it) to remove more bone and clean up more cartilage, MRI's, xrays, meds, casts, braces, doctors visits, hospital rooms... My insurance at the time was $3000 out of pocket a year then 1000% coverage. Good thing my mom went for the premium insurance at work or it would have been bad news. This was something like 20 years ago.
  6. Look for a short (don't rely on your inline fuse to tell you look for it) or to see if your ground came loose. Next check the load on your subs and if they are off take them out and see what's up. If you don't see any issues with the previous items put in new fuses. If the amp doesn't turn on you prolly cooked the amp which popped the fuses. OMG your music was clipping so obviously that breaks all of your shit! You guys take the extreme scenario and apply it to everything all the time. If it's clipping related he can almost certainly find the problem at the subs. EDIT: Did you really play all the songs one after another full tilt? Tons of music does, but people like pretending that everyone is putting double RMS to their subs and beating the hell out of them 24/7.
  7. That might be why all your video's now have crazy low volume? Side note: post up the cop vid slacker!
  8. In MI you need 2 view points. Drivers mirror and a rearview or two side mirrors.
  9. I held back from saying it earlier as I didn't know what your plans were, but once you start classes in college you only put that down as your education on a resume. No one will ever look back into HS once they see college listed
  10. That phone is junk man it's too bad they got you to go with it, but generally speaking they up-sell so I'm a little hesitant to believe they talked you into going with a low end phone instead of an EVO. Since you mention your dad and $1200 you failed to mention that was for 4+ phones. What do you think they are going to give you 4 phones worth what 1600+/- for free? Most of your problems seem to revolve around that store and the phone. If at all possible I would try another store. On a related note, Angry Birds is an intensive game... You didn't buy a top of the line Android phone so you shouldn't expect it to work. That would have been like me complaining it was slow on my Hero... To take that further make sure you aren't using animated backgrounds, haptic feedback, or the like. Also I have 4 phones and my bill is $129 or $149 (forget which) a month for unlimited data/txt and 1600 shared peak minutes which no other carrier can touch so I'm confused at why your dad would be asking for a better deal. You might need to check their plans again.
  11. Wow, that amp would last 5 minutes on Michigan roads
  12. Some junk amps in here... A/D/S 860MX If I had it there would be no need to let it sit on a shelf though...
  13. Even better you don't have to highlight your text to preview your post anymore (at least here)! Steve the IP banning thing shouldn't be happening at all. If you have to contact your host about it they need to fix their filter as it should be looking for hundreds of hits not a few. I'm not trying to talk bad about them or anything, but I ran webservers for 10 years (at The Planet or whatever it's now and Rackshack before that) and never ever had legitimate users get ip banned unless they tried to run a script against the box. They need to fix their shizz
  14. Ok so when I set the gain properly the power is max without clipping. Ok let's say I got a 18"SMD sub and a 3k sundown amp and after I set it proper, I will have clean 3k+ rms power going to my 18"? Cause I kno it can take the power.. Am Im correct?then I set my subsonic to 30hz cause my box is 32hz then I set my LPf down to 0 like y'all said or turn it up a little and everything else to 0. Correct? And if u have another ? not about my question or regarding to my question, don't ask it. make another thread please.. No you're not correct. It will give you the max your amp can put out cleanly. It doesn't care if your amp puts out 5 watts or 5000 watts only if the signal is clipped. If you want to know what your amp puts out you have to clamp it. Nah it won't be anywhere near that. People aren't going to pay 75% of a hand held scope price for one that just shows clipping. I would guess $79.
  15. I know why he worded it this way, but honestly we all know clipping is louder Bad for your gear for sure, but technically louder... It's independent of fq settings you normally use so you use one of the 2 fq the unit supports. 1khz or 40hz. So you set your settings so you can hear those fq... For the sub amp you set it as shown in the video, then you can toy with the boost by reducing gain and increasing boost. If you have to have boost on to hear anything then there is something wrong with your deck or xover point or something along those lines (assuming the amp isn't cooked). Just keep in mind that when you use boost and hear it get much louder all of the sudden that's it going into clip.
  16. You just say that because I'm louder than you and your fart box... Oh wait, were you talking about the desiel?
  17. well you do need to get one when you get a chance.... Funk that I leave mine laying around the living room.
  18. o2 sensor could be going... Edited out the rest as you already said it
  19. My system was stolen 3 times in HS. It was no surprise that once I got out of there the break-ins ceased. It was never stolen in the school lot, always from my house or a friends house. Good thing I had a rider for my stereo back then.
  20. It's great to see people buy conservatively man great job. The piece of mind it gives you with a low payment is worth its weight in gold.
  21. You'll save some loot getting the ram from Newegg instead. Enough to make it worth the hassle.
