what kinda car u got georgiaspl?
  6. 6 month old fi bl 12 just stopped working so i pulled it out and tested the coils and one coil reads nothing and there is a small cracks above the tinsel leads . how does this happen? i set the ssf so the subs would not bottom out and only fed it a AQ1200 . could it be i only gave it one week break in time? box is 2.1cf tuned to 32hz with 32.6" or port area . im just so confused coils look nice and bright/shiny .Any ideas of what i did wrong?
  7. are they new subs ? if so when they break in it will make a big difference
  8. is it possible to recone a bl with btl soft parts?
  9. pic would be nice so we might come up with a better solution for you
  10. thats not what jacob says. apparently when u use a bunch of sa-8 in a common ported enclosure they need very little enclosure volume like as low as .33 per sa-8
  11. i would be looking more at your amp/wiring for the heat issue altho having it in a common enclosure will make the subs think they are in a bigger box and might have more movement which could result in better cooling
  12. well its not turning off u can try a new power supply maybe try a format first since its free
  13. I agree with yellow tops not being good for car audio i bought two of the biggest ones i think they were 875cca and they had major voltage drop on just 1200wrms they i took them back and got two interstate megatrons of the same cca and problem was fixed

If u want i can hook you up with 2 sax-1200d,s that u can strap for 2 ohm pm me if your interested
  15. most people say the sundown SA or obsidian likes 1000+ rms and shipping is free for sundown from ssa or woofersetc.com so $195 at your door is pretty good
  16. how many watts do u plan to run anyways?
  17. i have seen sealed systems do quite well just remember to order the high QTS and put them in a common enclosure it will seem like more to the speakers. I bet 8 15 inch ssd,s in a dakota will be crazy but the ssd really comes to life @ 1000rms so u would really need 7000+
  18. ya they will send u a new one and if not its only $15
  19. and one of the two i bought didnt work too
  20. its just a remote gain just unplug it and use the gain on the amp
  21. you really cant go wrong fi sundown DC or AQ cant go wrong i cant tell u about the aq 2.5 but the sundown dc and fi are amazing subs for the price the sundown will take 1000 rms easy the fi ssd will take 1600rms easy not sure what u can push the dc to but im sure its 800-1000
  22. aq will be the cheapest but if u plan on upgrading power then i think the sa-15,lvl3-15 or fi ssd will handle more power
  23. go with what ever one u can get the best deal on they are both great amps
  24. yeah that was @ 39hz did a 147.3 @ 47hz though but that score i didnt care about, too high of a freq for me, and it wasnt a certified score so i didnt care to post it lol was this score fully sealed or door or window open? and is the port noisy? the reason i ask is because i might copy your set up
