    can you build a box out of plywood,(without fiberglassing the inside), also which is stronger for holding weight, playwood or MDF

      Yes you can build an enclosure with good plywood yes it can be done without fiberglassing.

      Why would it need to be water resistant?

      Mdf is ruined if it gets wet.
