    Transferring files from a external hard drive to my desktop, something went wrong and I lost all of my music. Everything else transferred just fine. 1500+ songs gone.

      what is overlooked often with personal files is redundancy. Sitting on an external drive makes people feel warm and fuzzy that they are safe but you have to have backups of the backups. Check your virus scan logs, maybe they were quarantined.
