  1. Play it free air (out of the box) and see of the noise is there You could be pushing down uneven causing rub. If its not there when the sub is out of the box, its not the sub
  2. Some car electronics can handle a 14v setup without stepdowns but some can act up Way easier just sticking with 12v
  3. Only need it if you're running a 16v setup or 18v Most car electronics don't like 16v Regular 12v setup its not needed
  4. If its smelling that means you're doing it right
  5. there is nothing wrong with wiring an amp to .5 IF you have the electrical for it
  6. if you look at the engine from the front, are the positive and negative left and right or front and back

  9. only the don't know's don't like it. Nobody who know's anything has anything bad to say about it. I seen a couple smart ass comments come out of you about it. I am sure you are one of those assholes on those other forums running your trap. I wouldn't doubt it for a second. Why don't you tell us how you really feel I've never said anything negative about it Would be hard to do, but could look it up if you really wanted. Same username bro, not trying to start shit but i have seen you talk down on smd and partners.. just the other day you was ranting about DC how the it was expensive for a xl DC is not the dd-1

  11. I'm in no way agreeing with this, just posting what was said on caco. "We have seen several cases where the dd-1 caused a similar problem with other amps. It is likely that it has some bad parts in the protect circuit. How it happens, I do not know, we just know how to repair it.Yours likely will be one of the $150-$250 range since it probably just has some bad parts in the protect circuit thanks to the DD-1."
  12. The thread is on caco if anyone wants to read it...DC section I think, DC 5k is the title
  13. Yes, perfectly fine. They're sealed, but the only think xs doesn't recommend is upside down
