Hey guys, I am looking for Kicker KS crossovers, hit me up if you have any to get rid of!

Haha that was pretty wicked! I too would have liked to seen it eat a sub-woofer!

fuse block fire!!! pics up
Purplehaze replied to fx4trucker's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
The problem is you are running two 4g power wires from one 4g power wire. You need to run a 0g from the batt. to the dist. block, then the two 4g will be fine. You are starving the sub amp for power, causing that line to heat up. Try it, and see if I'm right. -
Just wanted to share my experience. I recently bought some fuse holders from him, went perfectly. Item was perfect, exactly as described, shipping was fast, and overall I am very pleased. I'd definitely do business with him again!!!

I recently bought a couple of fuse holders from this fella, and I would gladly buy from him again! Super fast, great communication, top notch seller here! Plus he even threw in extra fuses. A+ Job!!! :clapping:

Cool, thanks man. I remember reading that one now. Guess I should check into that. Thanks again for your time! -
Recone options for VVX 15?
Purplehaze replied to Purplehaze's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
Thanks man. I guess what I was wondering is, can I buy recones from say PSI? I have seen where people reconed a VVX 8, so I was just wondering if the 15's are the same. Guess I could have been more clear, I'm wondering about aftermarket recone options. -
Recone options for VVX 15?
Purplehaze replied to Purplehaze's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
Anyone? -
Hey guys, as the title says, I'm just wondering if anyone knows what all re-cone options there are for the VVX series, specifically the VVX15. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! BTW I do not need re-cones at this time, my Skars are still BNIB, I was just curious as to what all options I would have when the time might come. Thanks again!

Purple's Newest Project
Purplehaze replied to Purplehaze's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
That's a good point, yeah I'll probably just have it rebuilt. Better all the way around! Thanks for the advice! Here is a pic of the Explorer. It was taken early, so it's still covered in dew. It's definitely a fixer upper, but hey that's what I'm good at anyway! -
Hey guys n gals, just wanted to share my newest project with you all. Some of you may remember a few months ago when I announced my girl is prego, well she's really prego now! And with this being her 3rd child, her little Ford ZX2 is just too small for our needs. (Although the gas mileage is off the hook!) So I've been looking for an SUV, something decent, yet affordable. I really wanted to find something cheap enough that I could pay cash for, to avoid another monthly payment. But those kind of deals are a dime a dozen. Well, I guess it was my lucky day, cause I found one of those deals! Actually on Monday morning, we were getting ready to go car shopping, and she sent me to WalMart first to pick up some stuff. But on my way there, I notice an older woman cleaning a nice looking 2001 Ford Explorer, which had for sale across the top windshield. Well, it was my lucky day! The lady tells me all about the Explorer, how they had bought it new in 2001, and her husband had drove it to work and back every day. Well to make a long story not quite so long, my girl really liked it, to my surprise, and so I bought it! I got a good deal, well in my opinion anyway. $600 cash. It does have a problem, it needs a transmission. The one in it now is slipping badly. But I got it cheap enough that after I get that fixed, it is still a good deal! And with no extra car payment, I can still focus on buying a home, which is my number 1 goal in life. So needless to say, I'm pumped! But I do have a small debate now. Should I buy a junk yard transmission, or just have this one rebuilt? The best deal I have found at a junk yard is $650 plus my old trans. It has less than 100K miles on it. The shop wants a little over $1,000 to rebuild mine, and that includes a new torque converter. Hmm what to do.... I'll put some pics up asap, in the meantime, whatcha think?
-
Man that is a good deal! But I think this is all just day dreaming anyway! Did he say 40 -50 Kicker CVT8's? Like the ones in my doors? And, in a sealed 20 cube wall? ????
-
I actually did something similar to this once, and it didn't sound that bad honestly. But then I built a new box, single chamber, with the proper port and air space, and the SQ blew me away! Not to mention I was a full 2 db louder on the TermLab. So yeah, you can do it, and it may work, but it's not ideal.
-
Yeah is it a prefab box, that says it's tuned @36? Cause if it is, than in reality, it's probably not, and more like 40hz. At least that's what happened to me. I bought a prefab, with a divider, and it too was supposed to be tuned @36hz. But after I built a box for the same subs, just one more, I realized that my prefab was not tuned at 36. And after that, I tried to measure it myself and see, and I came up with 40hz tuning. I think they just lie to us, to get the prefab's sold. So my suggestion is to build another box, and then you'll be sure where it's tuned at.

Yeah, I'm not really sure, but the pic was taken from the Rockford Fosgate website. They are supposed to be, but your right, they do look a little thin. Well, that's what I thought too, and last year, I bought a 50 pack. But now almost every one of them are corroding, and some really bad. And when I cut them, I can assure you, they are not copper. They are nothing close to copper. I'm not sure what type of metal they are, some cheap alloy. So anyway, thanks for the links. But the one I listed in the first post still seems to be the best deal, on the ones I need. Anyone else got any suggestions?

Hey guys and gals, just wondering where do you all buy 1/0 ring terminals from? I have been looking to buy some, and I've looked around, but thought maybe I'm missing something? I'm looking at getting the tinned copper, split type, like this: I am NOT interested in the cheap gold plated crap from Raptor, or whatever. Done tried those, they suck in more ways than one. I would love to use the RF ones like this, but I'm looking for a little better deal than $6 a pair. So far, this is the best deal I have found on quality terminals. http://crimpsupply.com/connectors/ring-terminals/1-0-ga-ring-terminals-3-8-stud.html So, where do you all buy yours from?

Need advice: New box for 2 Kicker L7 15s
Purplehaze replied to jabo6692's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Better give them 5 - 6 cubes each, and tune down to 32hz, IMO. At least that's what worked best for me with the Solo's. Seems like they like space! If you get bored, check out Stage 2, or my UBL. I had some L5's slammin' pretty good, and killing the lows!
