  1. 5 channel amps are great for "listening" systems ... But if you plan to beat the shit out of it ... My suggestion yould be to go with multiple amps (2 2 channels and 1 mono block) for maximum power supply setup ... one power supply just wont be able to handle the punishment ... just my suggestion here ...
  2. In Sound Quality, music should sound well balanced ... Nothing should overpower the other ... Components, subs, etc ... Not sure why you would want a (true) sound quality enclosure to be demanding on the higher frequiencies similar to a spl (ground pounder) build ...
  3. I will post a scoresheet after this Scrapin the Coast show to kind of explain why we set it up that way ...
  4. My dual chamber ported enclosure is tuned to 22 htz for sound quality With 80 inches of 4" pvc port tuning (40 inches per chamber)
  5. I will be competing in Super Mod SQ this weekend at USACI Scrapin the Coast ... I will ask around and see what the response is on this to know for sure ...
  6. Rules change all of the time ... When you compete, make sure you know where you can acess that rule book ... But as of now in USACI, I do know that there is not suppost to be anything larger than a 8" driver forward of the B - Pillar ... Now think of this ... 2 6.5" drivers cone area is more that 1 8" driver cone area ... So you may get bumped up anyways if that is the case ...
  7. Something everybody should do atleast once in their lives ...
  8. In what ??? SPL or Sound Quality ?? In Sound Quality, If you modify the door pannels in any way in USACI or MECA, you automatically get bumped up in higher classes ... as far as I know in USACI or MECA ... SPL classes don't give a shit unless you go larger than a 8" driver passed (in front of) the "B" pillar ... component sets come either active or passive ... passive has its own crossover network, and active has to be controlled by a external (headunit, etc..) crossover device ...
  9. being in SQ Competitions ... you never know, so I always try and keep a "test set" of RCAs in my tool box just to be able to throw over and test things like that ... I've also been known to run RCAs from one cars headunit to another cars amps to test for signal ... lol
  10. your sub volume section in you headunit turned up to normal operation setting ??
  11. one pair of bad ass 8"s will out perform 4 average 6.5"s anyday ... I don't see the concept of running 2 6.5s in each door ... just saying ... then run your tweeters on the other two channels and you're golden ... just my suggestion
  12. yes, wiring the subs in series, then aprellel to each other will give a one ohm load to the amp ...
  13. series ground from your amp to the neg of onee side of sub ... jumper from pos of that side to the neg of the other side of the sub ... the pos back to the amp ... 2 ohm load per sub ...
  14. how many subs are you going to run ?? series each sub for a 2 ohm load
  15. only one way to find out ... you can always upgrade Get some tunes in that ride bro !!!
  16. My oldest son has a shit ton of them too ... mostly the first gen decks ... Not sure if he would sell any ... He use to play in them pokemon tournements
  17. Yep, if it wasn't for my wife and kids ... My truck would be a million dollar show truck by now ... lol
