  1. He's got my vote. Not too often do we see someone who is new to competing go at it full speed their first year. It's nice to see their love for the hobby and the passion to keep trying new things to get louder. Yea, I did build his box, but he came in with a wealth of knowledge in car audio that made it very easy for us to work together. besides, he also came to me with an already bangin system. Blowin those DD's is what hooked him to compete. Most people would of walked away at such an expensive try. He is far from a knob turner. I'm glad we met, and he is a hell of a friend. I am honored to have been the one to build his box.
  2. Real name: Bill Johnson Organization in which you are or will be competing in: db Drag, Bassrace, USACi, MECA SPL & SQL Plus any other backyard format that will hold an event. Comp vehicle: 2003 Ford F-250 / 2000 Ford Excursion Current setup: 250- 2 DC LVL 5 18's, 4 DAT 2500.1, 6 XS Power 2700's / EX- subs 16 - 12's tba, 8 DAT 2500.1, 10 XS Power 3100's 240sf damp pro. 10 sheets LLP Why you should be part of the team: 10 years competing in various organizations. 3 Trips to world finals. When I am not helping other competitors build 150db Daily driver systems, I am slowly rebuilding the 2 of mine. The time I have spent in this hobby has taught me that winning isn't nearly as fun as it is helping others achieve their goals. Helping someone grow into a serious competitor is a far greater value for the sport as a whole. I also understand the value in promoting a product in a professional manner at all times. That every time you are at a shop hosting a show, you have an obligation to talk to those shop owners and show them the products you represent. Being a part of a manufacture team means that you are a representative of them, You are the companies field expert. Any business you conduct, needs to be in the best interest of the people you represent. I hope my build logs, photos, and videos not only showcase what I can do but also inspire others to build bigger and better system. http://www.youtube.c.../11/IFWlVTreQzc 250 Build log. http://www.stevemead...s-your-section/ http://www.youtube.c.../20/tpbIJ6z5_RQ EX build log. http://www.stevemead...kingsuvs-build/ And this is just pure sexi, even for being half done. http://i59.photobuck...Build/009-7.jpg http://i59.photobuck...Build/007-3.jpg
  3. Ah nice! I remember that thread... been a while since you posted. Yeah, project has been on funding hold for a while now. Is this for personal use or are you trafficking? More like new choice of Interior material http://secondskinaud...read.php?t=6061 Bill, nice thread. How much deadener did you use? Im needing to do my whole civic and was wondering how many layers you needed to use? Or should I do just one full layer of alpha tiles? Hey jon, question for you. I have a decent amount of SS used, but I want as deadened as I can get as well as blocking out as much external noise as I can. What kind of 'layering' do I need. I've seen your post on how much you have in your truck from DIYMA, but was curious what you suggest. Between the damp pro/alpha tiles, then just LL pro? Or do I also need overkill? Educate meh! PM me if you have to. I started with 240sf of damp pro. I have some pretty open runs of un supported metal so I wanted to make sure I was able to control body flex. 2 layers in each door. Inner and then outer skin. single layer over the top of another product on the floor and then a layer throughout the roof with a second layer between frame supports. It is a noticeable difference in noise reduction and from rattles. I have no system in the truck so I have plenty of time to listen to road noise. Where I really noticed a reduction in road noise is when I added the LLP to the floor. each type of product offers a benefit in reduction to different kinds of noise. So a combo of a few different products in the right areas are key. When money is right I will finish off the Damp pro in the rear and get the Overkill pro for all the panels.

  5. Look for the Skil Mag 77's one of the better saws out there and have pretty much been the same for years. Look for them at pawn shops. I recently bought a newer craftsman and it had blade walk like no other. Needless to say, It quickly went back
  6. I probably know more about this amp design then anyone on here. Let me put it this way, If ya give it to me for free, I still wouldn't even want to pay shipping for it But if your interested in buying a blown one, you let me know. I might make ya a deal on one
  7. For a daily box, I wouldn't worry too much about them. Yes they can add strength to the corners, but if ya build a solid box it won't matter. 45's also don't always add spl
  8. Padilla’s 5 Vegas Gurkha's Man O war's Nub's Puros Indios Acid Diesel All are in rotation in my collection. However a good sampler pack is a great way to get started on the wrappers you like the best. I like a more mild smoke when out in the garage working or out golfing. Maybe a nice Maduro after dinner and with some Jack. Lately I have be after the larger rings 50+ for my every day smoke. They last longer and have less tendency to go out when you set them down for more then a few min. The nubs are a great quick smoke when the mood is right
  9. I like no more then 5 cu for them. 15-17 per on the port
  10. I'm really in now that Ray is getting all dressed up for it

  12. Dept of general services has an auction every month. Next one is next Wed. http://www.dgs.ca.gov/dgs/tabid/1480/Default.aspx I'll be out there looking at something I don't need.
  13. I have one last Diablo Hellfire 1k that would push those subs nicely

Oh you mean like the other day when our xmas lights were out, and instead of unplugging the extenson cord in the garage first i went out and just grabbed the soaking wet cords and electrocuted myself?

  15. Well I guess you can look at it like this. Was said stereo truck ever at a finals, or was it ever a world record holder? That might offer some value to it. Another thing to consider is, who's been working on said stereo truck? Does it have potential or is it a gut and redo cause corners were cut. It sure would suck to pay for something just to take a sawzall and sledge to it
  16. Personally I think any stereo comp truck is one tow away from being crushed. IMO it's not worth more then the wood thats in it.
  17. If yer just getting going, then I recommend places like CI. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/ Prices are pretty good, and some of the specials they run are killer. Start with their sampler packs. Save the wrappers you like and narrow down your selection as you go. Personally I'm not a fan of the Cubans. I think the ones coming out of the Dominican Republic are a way better smoke
  18. Looks great. What did you use for a humidifier? I'm looking to build a 5-800 stick one myself and I've been looking at the Oasis units.
  19. Not sure what they plan to use as a format. USACi is always a fun one though
  20. Here's the link to the car show. http://www.hot-orama.com/Hot%20ORama.html I will say for those who have not gone before that it is one of the coolest setting for a competition. Plus there is plenty of old cars to look at. Shit ton of food and beer.... err i mean drink vendors. Even some races on Sat night. Plenty of Hotels near by with decent rates and safe parking.
