Yahoo answers enough said. Not true, there are some reflectors designed for HID that will have less glare than a projector designed for Halogen with a HID bulb. Plenty of cars have factory HIDS in reflector housings. IS300, navigator, escalade, avalon, sienna, G35 some mustangs, and a lot more im probably forgetting. Bottom line is the 2 bulbs give off light in different patterns. Reflectors or projectors can be designed for either. These guys LOL. they put HIDs in a halogen projector and a halogen reflector. They say the projector is proper. And then they put some bulbs that look like about 8k in projectors which is retarded. In a proper HID setup with projectors the "bent" light at the cutoff is what creates the color and all of the light on the road is white...usable. Yeah np, the projectors focus the light so you see better and so you don't blind people. It's illegal here to have hids without projectors. Why did he have to jack the car up to put lights in? haha Hids are only illegal if they are Aftermarket placed in a non DOT appoved housing. Headlights are tested with certain bulbs to get approval, change the bulb type and the certification they got from DOT in no longer valid.. like i said above, plenty of cars have FACTORY hid in reflector housings and are not illegal.
