  1. I doubt you'll have the space to. A double baffle will kill a lot of box volume. Just mount some 1.5" wide MDF rings behind the sub cutouts so you have a beefed up area to screw into.
  2. I was able to get 3.5ft^3 at 33hz, but port area isn't huge, 13.5"x4".
  3. You have to be able to fit more than a couple of ported 10's...what do you drive?
  4. Weird, because if everything else is equal(ohm load, amp draw, efficiency), you're looking at around 7.5% for a 1V drop from 14.4V to 13.4V.
  5. Just that much more power won't make a huge difference. The box itself is going to shape the loudness and response curve more than anything else. You might gain 1db, but don't expect anything more.
  6. Where'd you get that figure at? Assuming amperage draw and efficiency stay the same you're looking at less than that. Obviously conditions don't stay exactly the same, but 18% is a big difference. That'd be: 2000 watts at 14.4V 1640 watts at 13.4V 1344 watts at 12.4V 1102 watts at 11.4V
  7. There's nothing wrong at all with having too much power on tap...you don't need to use all of it. People normally blow subs because they don't have enough clean power available, try to push the amp harder than it's capable of, and send dirty power at the sub.
  8. I stand by my statement. IMO the Power HX2 is in a different class than a lvl3, bottom line. Yes, I have played with both.
  9. If you're wanting crazy loud, that's not going to do it. They're full range woofers so they're not very efficient compared to other mids. Two of the Daytons would be much louder. Not to mention I've heard some bad reviews about their clarity and issues with muddiness.
  10. I'd look into the cheaper Dayton speakers if you want to buy that many. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-015 And they're on sale.
  11. x2, the Power HX2's are very capable subs. I'd take them over lvl3's all day, every day.
  12. So you wouldn't recommend the SS Rl-i or Dayton HF either?
  13. Well you're already running the SA15's in the biggest box you can fit in your truck. You don't plan on adding more power(not like you need to anyways), so I don't see how you really plan on getting a big difference out of a new box. 13ft^3 is what I was going to suggest, and that port area seems about right...a little small, but not bad.
  14. I like 2-2.25ft^3 with a 32-35hz tuning.
  15. I'd do a center console box. You can pretty easily do 2ft^3 after displacements.
  16. What are the dimensions you're working with?
  17. Doing a box that shallow really sucks because your port is going to need to make a turn, and behind that turn you're not going to have a lot of depth, not to mention two sub closer to the port than the other two. To counter that you can do a port in the middle, so when it splits(if it needs to) you will have a little more box depth behind the subs, and the subs(assuming two stacked on top of each other on each side) will all be equidistant from the interior port openings.
  18. In this case go 1.75ft^3 with a 34-35hz tuning.
