Hey man, I'm a mechanic working for Ford, the money is not at all bad but it could be better of course. With that said, it's not a bad business to be in if you can find a job considering the competition, there are more mechanics that there are jobs. I have heard that masonary work is very lucrative though, I have a buddy who was making like $20 an hour just as an unskilled "hod carrier", so the money is obviously there for the skilled people. Either way, best of luck to you in whatever you choose.

When you buy shit thats stolen you run the risk of having it confiscated when the rightful owner comes forward with serial numbers. It's one thing to unknowingly buy stolen gear, but if you KNOW it's stolen and you still buy it thats pretty shady IMO.

I have seen good deals on second hand gear here and on CACO . And give this thread a few days, people with the knowledge will chime in eventually and give you really good opinions. My only advice would be to be patient and try not to rush it, it took me about 8 months to save up enough to buy what I have right now and it's still not "exactly" what I want.
