  1. Yeah prolly. But my point is to get the place so bright at night that it actually puts a glow in the sky over this small town, right on the edge of a national forest. After all, most people buy porn at night, so they need to find the place with little effort. Then by the front door, He can post up a nice little sign telling how this place was a ATV rental shop and all, and that free enterprise politics created this wonderful venue that you are about to enter. It should continue on to say if you want to rent ATV's in the daytime to enjoy the national Forest just down the road, see the attendant at the counter for more info. !!!! They are saying he couldnt open a ATV rental shop, doesn't mean he can't advertise the one he opens up in the next county a few miles away...If he really is a savy business man..
  2. I heard this on Lex and Terry ( radio show ) yesterday morning. I hope this guy follows through with this and stands his ground. Then I hope he goes and put bright red neons all the way around the eaves on that building, and puts up all kinds of street lights , flashing neons in the windows, all of it. Make it a true big city porn store out in the middle of a national Forest. I know this isnt what he wanted, but you can only push somebody so far...He needs to push back, and push back loud, and be obnoxious about it.
  3. there is all kind of websites set up by the movie studio , I can't think of them off hand , but it like gotham city news .com or somethin.... buncha underground promotion going on about harvey Dent and what not though....
  4. Email, shit. Call the station and ask for a detective. Get a cop on the phone, get a damn case number, get a officer sent to his home. Especially if the Money order company can tell you if the money was deposited into his account, then get ahold of the bank the m.o. got deposited into. Use your brain here and you can put this guy into a court room with little effort.
  5. the original post ideas seem like a lot to keep up with. Instead of a SOTM exclusively, keep the SOTM and start a thread in the SOTM forums with a title like " did you guys see this setup" or "keep an eye on this setup " somethin... No winners, just a install focus to get folks to get more into the constructive criticism of build threads so the folks buildin a system can get more feedback. Some builds have a few people getting involved with comments to the builder, while others go up damn near unnoticed, then others get all the attention and encouragement. And start locking and deleting build threads where nothing has been built. End of Story. If you want to start a thread about what your plans are take it to general audio or enclosures or something. The member build section is for threads to show what HAS been built. Not what you hope to do later on.
  6. did you have the fender and bumper the "cut in" before installing them? "cutting in " is painting the mounting flange and rolled edge that you can t really paint after the parts are installed. its not necessary but makes for a professional job. It looks god though, looks like you got the fender lined up proerly and your body panel gaps nice and even. Glad to see your getting in fixed, and getting the parts for a deal.
  7. What his thermometer doesn't show is the humidity level. Cali may get hot, and the desert may get hot, my next door neighbor is from AZ , and he agrees the weather in savannah ga is nothing like AZ. It can be 2:30 in the morning, and just going outside will get you sweating and sticky feeling. It is magnified 100 times as the sun gets into the sky. It averages 80 - 95 % humidity here year round. You have heard the term "dry heat" , well around here it is anything but dry. It is sticky, it is muggy , and it is hot. Ever been in a sauna.... We live in one year round.
  8. defend your self no matter what. But no girl, NOT ANY ONE OF THEM is worth fighting over. There are too many, and you will fall in love again, and you will find someone that you trust, and that you get that trust back, then there won't be any need in doing shit like this.
  9. when I originally bought mine I had already had kicker, kenwood, and kenwood excelon subs. Was not a fan RF subs and knew nothing of the likes of Fi, DC, and DD... wasn't gonna buy audiobahn, or MTX, or sony, pioneer subs. The type-R seemed to be the best bet. I had a pair of tens, and now a pair of 12s. Granted at the moment, I am needing to replace one of my 12s after two years of pretty hard beating. I would go on and step up to some Fi or DC 15s, but but that requires a new bigger amp, more batts, and a h.o. alternator. Plus I just built a new enclosure not too long ago, and I like those type-R subs a little bit more. I personally think my subs sound really clean, and they seem to sound ( to me anyway ) fairly tonally accurate in music , not to mention they get loud as fuck off of a 1000 watt alpine amp that is also two years old. I have gotten away from kenwood altogether and I have discovered sundown amps and I love them. I will get a 3000 watt amp from them to push my 15s with whenever I have funds to redo that part of my system properly. I am thru cutting corners. Anything worth doing is worth doin right. So for now I am gonna replace my blown 12 inch woofer , and I am gonna go ahead and replace the other woofer at the same time, and I am gonna keep on letting those type-R s do that work in the back of the FJ . I prefer the SQ of a type r over a solobaric and a CVR any day, and I cant comment on the CVX yet as I havent heard one. But for the money , alpine makes a damn fine sub.
  10. Dont feel bad, half the time I go to work in the daylight, watch it get dark and then see the sun come back before I get off work several times a week. Other nights,I dont even hit the bed till 7- in the morning, after working all night. But there is nothing better than getting off work around four a.m. and go home only to find that I can't sleep and I lay in bed and watch the daylight creep into the room. Insomnia sucks ass,
  11. cool. You are off to a good start doin it yourself. At least you got out there a gave painting a try. BTW.... I clicked your link in your sig. Damn good job on the tattoos man.
  12. the only problem with that is , you have only created more your for yourself when you do decide to paint it properly. But yeah , from the pics it looks sharp. enough can never be said about body work prep before paint. It sucks, its work, it slow going, and its a dirty ass job. The more work you put into prep though, the better the end result will be, even if it is painted outside of a booth. When you go at it again ( assuming you wanna do it right ) you will pretty much have to sand all of that down , getting all the trash out of it from the ambient air, and whatever body work that was left unfinished will also have to be done. And assuming you didn't wipe it down good with a grease and wax remover, and a tack cloth, you most likely got orange peel and will most likely have adhesion problems after it cures good. I am not trying to knock your work by any means man. I applaud the effort, and no body learns better than by trial and error. so please take what I say as constructive and not derogatory in meaning. I just don't want you think you can't do it after you start encountering problems ( if you do, maybe not ) with this paint job. I think you got a awesome truck, I love the shaved out extended cab , so your foundation is really good. Another thing to, drop a little coin on some sheet plastic and seal up that carport from the outside when you paint and get a couple of cheap box fans to pull the air and overspray out of your homemade "booth" and you will see much better results.
  13. Lack of liability for customers vehicles. A 1000 watt set up is less likely to strain a stock charging system, where as if you guys were tossing in a 4000 RF amp, and the customer kills his alternator and battery, best buy could be held liable... it is a theory of keep it simple for the masses.
  14. my whole point to this was that the guy was not even open to the fact he could be wrong. He basically implied that if they didn't carry it, alpine doesn't make it. Naive to say the least. I have access to a best buy card, and was considering using it because I am impatient. I wanted to get my system back running on two subs instead of one. But whatever. I spend alot of money in there on other things like most you, my 50" inch LCD, DVD players, gobs of movies, computer stuff, etc, etc, so I don't mind doing business there, but with what I was told and the way the looked at me, I will continue to stay out of the car audio section.
  15. What a way for an officer to "serve" the public. I would of got his badge number and made a few calls. He could of at least given you the law codes and told you where to look them up online or something. Hell I was in jacksonville last night and at subway. A jacksonville police officer was inline ahead of me and we had a very long discussion about using tasers, officer liability, suspect rights , rules they have to follow when using tasers, etc... Very informative discussion and a really nice guy. More cops need to be like that dude.
  16. do the other windows roll down and roll up fine from their own switches on each door ? If so, then odds are the master switch on the drivers door is got a problem, that or a relay is failing somewhere...
  17. So I went to best buy monday afternoon to get the movie "Teeth" and was wandering around in the car audio department and noticed that they had a couple of type -R subs in a prefab box..... Looking around at the inventory stored above the shelves I saw various boxes that was stock of RF subs, alpine type -E, various kenwood and alpine and RF coaxial speakers and alot of head units... Couldn't find any body to talk too to ask a simple question. We went back there today with a friend of mine so he could pick up a TV stand for his 50 inch LCD t.v. that closely matches the rest of his furnishings. I went back over to the car audio section and there was a employee wandering around. I said " hey man, do you guys carry the alpine type -R 12" dual 2 ohm subs ? " He looked at me kinda blank like and I said " I saw the dual 4 ohms on the website , but I wanted to see if you had the dual two 's in store " He , still looking lost for words spits out this crap " I ... ahhh... Alpine doesn't make dual 2 ohm woofers, only dual four's in type-R. I have never seen any, and if the BestBuy website doesn't show it, then Alpine doesn't make it " Followed by this " Why would you want dual 2 ohm woofers anyway, all alpine amps put out the rated power at 1 ohm, and you can't get to one ohm with a dual two ohm sub. " I sorta stood there and said " They make the dual two ohm sub, it's model number is the SWR-122D , and I have two of them in my truck. " He says, no you have dual 4's. Alpine doesn't make type-Rs in a dual 2 ohm configuration. " I said " yeah alright, thanks man. " and walked away.... Point of all this. I smoked out one of my woofers a week or so ago. So bad that not only did I smell it, I worked the winding loose so bad it was actually rattling inside the motor. I went on and figured since it was toast I pulled the cone out the basket and the wire was nice and black, and of course came unravelled the rest of the way as I seperated the cone and coil from inside the motor. I can easily find a new sub online for around a hundred bucks, but I figured I would just check best buy and see what kinda price they have on em. I have since found on ebay that I can get a pair of them for just under 200 plus shipping, figure I will go on and replace them both , and since I discovered this I will just get the new set next week when I get paid. And the comment he made about alpine amps putting out peak power at 1 ohm, I didn't even get into it with him, I am pretty sure all alpine mono amps are 2 ohm for peak RMS, well at least mine is. I am pretty sure one or two of them puts out at 1 ohm but I hadn't even looked to see if I am right or wrong, cause I only have the amp I own to worry about. My other woofer is still good, so I do have bass, and my blown sub was re-assembled and stuck back in the box without power just to fill the hole for now. Best buy. The house of knowledge.
  18. nope. but come on... if nobody turned the receptacle around on him then its gotta some weird shit goin on. the buried are tired of the noise. or the next door neighbor paid a local kid to do it.....
  19. maybe your house is built on a old burial ground.....poltergeist anyone?????
  20. I run nothin but 93 octane in my FJ cruiser. It runs me right at 65 bucks to fill it when the low fuel light comes on. I can run about 300 miles from full to the low fuel indicator lighting up. I would have already bought a motorcycle to make the commute to work, which is just over 20 miles one way. The only problem is I have to carry a suitcase a book bag and another bag with me almost every time I go to work, on account I spend two or three days away from home and I have to carry rule books, timetables, paperwork , radio, railroad approved flashlight, etc.... Kinda hard to get all of that on a motorcycle. I have noticed though I no longer make unnecessary trip into savannah which is 20 -30 miles from the house. when I bought my FJ in october 2006, it cost 40 bucks to fill it with 93 octane from basically bone dry, close to 19 gallons. Now its $65.00 for 15 gallons. This shit sucks. But We are the middle class of america, so we bend over and take it with a fuckin smile.
  21. I am that way now. Can't wait to fly again now. Never thought I would be that way. When you go to the aquarium make sure you guys arrive within the time slot on your tickets. That place is still super busy everyday. They are also gonna rip you a new asshole in the parking garage. It cost me around 38 bucks for about two and a half hours... Fuckin crooks.
