  1. Dude, seriously? We are talking about a 1200 Watt system. Buy the D4 subs and move on. Don't decide to run.5 ohms for a little over 1000W. And to SPLAddict, I'm glad you haven't had issues running .5 ohms, that's fantastic. I don't suggest half ohm for daily, and never will.
  2. Ugh.... do you have strong enough electrical to back up .5 ohm? I never suggest for a guy to run .5 ohm for daily. Get the right amp and the right coil configuration to run the proper impedance
  3. Well, why would get the D2s? Don't you want to run at 1 ohm to get the most out of the amp? If you're getting 2 D2 coiled subs, you'll have to wire at 2 ohms final load, or.5 ohm. Getting D4 coils would allow you to write at 1 ohm and get the most out if either of those amps. What made you think you needed D2s in the first place?
  4. Good looking enclosure from what I can see on mobile. I'm down to see this build, looks good so far. Any pics of the enclosure being built?
  5. I know we aren't into the middle of the month, but any updates on when/if we can look forward to an Android version
  6. My opinion(not like it fuckin matters), the sub is rated at what it's rated at for a reason. We all know the coils, even though only 2.5", can take a ton of heat and abuse. Double the rated power for 5 months, I say you did a good job. Some may have lasted longer, some shorter. Heres the rub: You can't really shit talk the sub for busting tinsel leads when you ran double the RMS rated power at the sub. You can call Sundown and discuss your dissatisfaction, my bet is they'll say," Well, we rated the 2.5" coiled sub at 600W RMS, AND it will take that all day every day. You chose to run 1200+ Watts to each? You should have bought a Z series".
  7. They throw those Kiosks up so fast too during construction. I would have been scared it would flatten the place. Haha, great video. And yeah, that girl definitely said Wessss side. Oh....white cheerleader girl, please don't haha!
  8. On a side note.....I never had an urge to cut a hole in my truck for a blowthrough before coming to this forum before. So it's a blessing AND it's a curse. More of a blessing though P.S. My truck wrote me a handwritten letter and it said," Thanks a fuckin bunch!"
  9. Little FYI, the Obsidians are slated to be out at the end of this month as well. They are currently asking $120 per 12" sub and are currently a pre order item. They would be Good $240 plus shipping, in my opinion
  10. Then do the E12s, same power handling and motor as the E15s. My suggestion would also be the 12s in about 4 cubes net tuned anywhere from 32-36 Hz.
  11. I found this site one night when I was scrolling through Rockford Fosgates archived files and rolled across Chicken's Caddy build. I read the entire thread over quite a few hours. I'm pretty sure I never blinked the whole time and my eyes were sore as FUCK before going to bed. I've only been an active member for a couple of years, but the knowledge I've gained here is priceless. Thanks to all of who have helped and all who may potentially help in the future, whoever you are. This is a great community and I'm very thankful for it. As long as my hands still work, I'll be turning a wench, guiding a saw, brushing on resin, or crimping some wire. Here's to 7 more:) Thank you Steve for such a kickass, chill place.
  12. The thing is, no one can tell you. It's build-specific. Your Scion has different characteristics and Resonant frequency than my Reg cab truck(and so many other vehicles too). What may work flat or peaky in mine, may have a different effect in your car. You really need to build to find out. I'd start at 2:1, and then make adjustments on ratio after you've tested awhile.
  13. P.S. I know that the cargo area in that car is hella small so good luck. I'd estimate that at LEAST 7 cubes will be needed before all displacements. 2 sealed, 4 ported, plus driver and port displacements. Probably close to 8 cubes for a 2:1
  14. That is obviously a rough idea where that link takes you. You make PM HIM though to see if he ever built it or if it worked out. OP you have good woodworking skills, so I think you'll be able to build it relatively easy. If it were me, I'd tune it around 48ish to get a good range of response in THAT car. You may be able to go a little lower, but you may sacrifice the higher end and in turn, need one hell of a mid stage to compensate.
  15. Beeemdub has an old thread asking about a 4th with the same subs. I'd say shoot for 2:1 or 2.5:1 with strong 80-100" of port. When I used the search feature at work tonight, I found that old thread. I'll edit this post and paste the linkey ***Edit- Here you go: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142206-how-much-port-should-this-4th-order-have/
  16. That's cute..... giving Steve suggestions. I'm PRETTY sure he's got this dude. Keep it up boss man, vinyl work looks tits
  17. Quote on 2 D4(or D1,whatever they are coming in) to 85308 please? These things look so mean!
  18. They need to add a disclaimer that they got their power at 46% THD, I think that would clear up the confusion. I wish you would clip the ever loving SHIT out of the amp and see what kind of numbers you can get. Gain pot maxed maybe? Bwahahahaha
  19. Did you even read the post? It clearly said release for Android is middle of n next month ugh
  20. Looking great, can't wait for the Android version release. Best application for $.99 I will have on my phone
  21. Resting voltage is .5 volts? They are paperweights now. I think anything below like 10 volts are UNrecoverable. Can't remember the exact number where they are goners
