  1. For the box just post your maximum dims and I will suggest a very easy to build design, For the amp I would recommend this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23874_MB-Quart-ONX1.1000D.html Does rated and sounds clean only $30 above your budget hope not a big deal.
  2. Yes if the length of the port is 24 and is all external, the "length of external port" field cannot be above 24 (like 36). And ok if your drawing was made just fast but the holes of the subs cannot be that size.
  3. its all good i figured it would come down to more brand association. im deciding between the kicker comp 8's infinity reference 8's or the fosgate p1 8's (i would get the p2s but the d2 are $80 Based on price ok but are really different sounding stuff.
  4. Ok here it is: Kicker CVR 15" on 3 different boxes: 10cuft@32Hz on green 3cuft@32Hz on orange 1cuft@32Hz on white Pretty different right??
  5. I would make a box solid for future replacement of those drivers or make me a single good quality driver box and save the space for omething else... of course that's just me!
  6. Only this: =6570626&SearchClickout[ignore]=1"]http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_37709_Hifonics-HFX12D4.html?SearchClickout[query_id]=6570626&SearchClickout[ignore]=1
  7. The length of the external art of the port longer than the length of the port itself?
  8. It fits your application perfectly but I just can't really recommend new Autotek, also it seems that are overrated.
  9. Right, but 4 cubes after displacements or "effective" volume, that's the simplest ported design for higher power dual drivers (9 parts), the table saw, jigsaw, a drill and a proper screwdriver will be basic tools, you need high quality wood glue, and silicone caulk as a sealeant, MDF screws besides the wood itself and something to measure and draw your cuts. As long as you do you cuts perfectly it will be really easy to build. Hope others will step in to complement this explanation.
  10. Not frequently you hear that the subwoofer itself has everything to do with the size of the box and the tuning frequency of the box, if you like let me know which sub is it and I will show you some plots.
  11. Here is a design suggestion on your new dims for the 15" VFL extreme: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 36.2 Hz Vb = 6.637 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted External Height = 16 in External Width = 40 in External Depth = 26 in Port Width = 6 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front = 33 1/4 x 14 1/2 Front Internal = 31 3/4 x 14 1/2 Back = 40 x 14 1/2 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 24 1/2 x 14 1/2 Side 2 = 25 1/4 x 14 1/2 Top & Bottom = 40 x 26 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 15 1/2 x 14 1/2 Assembly guide: (2) Front to back and (2) top to bottom low displacement crossbraces are recommended for these subwoofers. Let me know any questions.
  12. Dual chamber because you are driving the subs with separate amps take a look: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 33.219 Hz Vb = 1.89 ft^3 (per chamber) External Height = 16 in External Width = 30.5 in External Depth = 25 in Port Width = 2 in * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. Let me know any questions.
  13. Well yes the amps section would be better for this but OK since you are going that cheap I might as well save you a few extra bucks take a look: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33472_1600W-Kenwood-Subwoofers-and-Amplifier-Bass-Bundle.html?from=857 You can even get a head unit also for the $200.
  14. Exactly DC Audios can work on smaller enclosures.
  15. Well Arc Audio recommends 1.8 cubic feet (per sub) tuned to 32Hz, the enclosure you are using is tuned to 40Hz and is way off spec.. but you like how it sounds.. I am guessing you don't listen to rap like kind of music.
  16. That would not be a problem as those can be found anywhere: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PVC-Sch40-Socket-Slip-El-406-90-degree-Elbow-Glue-/220502085962?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item7912772f33 The problem is make all the dims work.
  17. If it sound right don't fix it. but anyways let me know your maximum dims to fit a box and I will suggest a design, also the full dims of the box you are using would be interesting for comparison purposes.
  18. Modified the original post, is just a generic idea of how it looks, be clear that the baffle is 2 layers thick. And yes those subs can take at least 1800WRMS each without any issues.
  19. If you need a diagram for the above suggestion let me know.
  20. Need to specify what type of design you want before having poeple working on it..
  21. Those will fit easily, at about 2.3-2.5 each you probably could fit 3.
  22. The DC Audio XL 15" can work on 3.25 cubic feet each, much more feasible on your space.
  23. Ok so if you don't have whistling anymore then I don't think is th box, port area is not ideal below PA/Vb below 9 but being above 8 will cost you some efficiency but nothing more. Obviously if your box is hitting the amp and have any bad wires or bad connections you may be experiencing distortion when there's a lot of vibration going on, so you may need to check both your power and singnal cables to see if nothing is damaged or loose. There is a simple method to set your gains without any instruments, it's described in any rockford fosgate amplifier manual, are you familiar with that?? if not I will write it down here for you, it will be good enough for dealing with an obvious issue.
